Today, 31th of December 2020, a year full of ups and downs is coming to an end.
2020
Looking back, the year offered many challenges. Not only to me but to the whole world. However, with all of these hardships in mind, I would still not want to miss 2020. Just too much happened that had a positive effect on me.
Hive
Starting with the obvious: the Hive hardfork. An event that will be in future generations books about blockchain governance. While the whole thing was for sure not easy, especially the warfare between Steem & Hive, I have to say, it was quite fun to team up with dozens of people around the world, to come up with a name, branding, logo and everything else.
Nature
Another important milestone for this year is that I've managed to get out into nature more than ever before. In total, I think I drove at least over 2000 km with my bike and the biggest tour was a whopping 100km with luggage. That was so much fun! I love nature and I'm so excited for 2021 and all the nature adventures it entails.
Work
I think I've never worked so hard than this year. I thought 2019 was crazy, but 2020 got to a whole another level. This year brought me a lot closer to the "magic 10k to mastery" threshold. And I'm super excited for you to see what I've been doing the past year.
Life
In 2020, there were also some really tough times, especially in Q4.
After becoming practically "homeless" in the midst of a pandemic, due to direct consequences of an arsonist making my home uninhabitable and having an incompetent insurance company taking months to even decide which company would clean the mess, I also lost my grandmother a few weeks later (not due covid).
She was suffering from dementia for a few years, which resulted in me already dealing with a lot of pain due to her illness earlier. But it definitely was a shock to for this to happen. I guess the lemonade out of this was, that I was at my mothers' place at the time (due to the homeless situation) and I was able to comfort her directly. Crazy how life happens sometimes.
If I might have been harsh within my posts/comments/messages, I hope this clarifies the emotional situation I was in.
The Road Ahead - 2021
With all of this, I'm still glad 2020 happened and I'm even more glad that 2021 is here very soon.
For the year 2021, I have some very detailed goals in mind that I thrive to have achieved. I'd like to share them with you. Here they come. Ready?
- In 2021, I've managed to drinks lots of water, have a very healthy diet and a strong body & mind.
- In 2021, I've created a healthy & balanced lifestyle, I'm getting work done efficiently and I'm spending lots of time in nature & with my family.
- In 2021, I've helped the German Hive community flourish and grow.
- In 2021, I've helped form a business alliance on Hive that stabilizes the ecosystem & price and provides dev power to improve Hive.
- In 2021, I've helped HIVE become at least a stable TOP 30 candidate within crypto rankings based on MC.
- In 2021, I've launched & built one of the most promising innovative social platforms fueled with blockchain technology in the world and at the same time enriched the German blockchain/crypto scene with a disruptive startup.
I know, it's much to take in and some will call me crazy. But these are truly my goals for 2021.

No, that thankfully not. But someone burned something else down and seemingly my flat had some leakage where the smoke could get in, blackening the whole flat with soot. Also, thank god it wasn't at night, otherwise could have been really dangerous.

Best wishes to you and your loved ones Wolfi! I want to hear about your bike tours though please mate!!..... You say 'drive' as opposed to 'ride' so I'm thinking motorcycling? The wife and I love taking our big scooter out camping and in the hills. We're just back from a 400Km round trip to celebrate New Year up a mountain in Thailand.
My Gran also died with Alzheimer's albeit 15 years ago. Watching her unravel over the 5 years previous though was absolutely horrendous for he loved ones so I feel your pain.
