Going through an experimental curation token I've had on my mind lately.
Let me know what you think!
also accepting naming ideas! Voteveil? Curationcurtain? Anonannons? (only swedes will get that last one XD)
Youtube version here if you want CC's you can translate:
Mic's a bit glitchy at times, sorry about that!

Do you have a link of the "white paper" somewhere to read it?
It would be good for new users, as it hides some negativity... But for established users, what would be the advantage?
It was heard the keyboard btw 🤣
oh if you meant the "paper" in the video, there's a part there that I wanna keep hidden on purpose, I skipped over that during my drinking pause, but I can edit it out and share it.
no whitepaper yet, and I think some things we wanna keep hidden to prevent abuse. Still working on things here and there, but could use some other curators to test things in a few days!
Hi @acidyo! I've watch the first few minutes, but since I'm not a very techky guy, I get the feeling I have to watch it a couple of times to understand it. But, sounds very interesting so far. 👍

It's an interesting idea, quite complex, but I like it. I saw the video once, and I will check what you shared in the comments.
I'm not sure if this is part of the scope. I think you mentioned it, but I'm not sure if it's the same. Something that I have been thinking about is how we could "punish" bad downvoters. There is currently a way to punish bad upvoters, and that's with downvotes, but there is no way to punish abusive downvoters.
By the way, have you seen the Curation Quality Score that we built in https://mantecurated.3speak.tv/ ?
I would love to have your feedback about it. It's still a work in progress.
yeah that's definitely something needing to be fixed but it feels like it happens so seldom for it to be a real problem so to speak. I don't wanna diminish the real issue or say that its unimportant, it just feels like tools to bring attention to bad downvotes and stakeholders willing to step in to counter it would already do most of the work. Generally I feel like when bad downvotes do happen they ring quite loud and a big part of the community finds out about it.
Have you seen any such examples as of late?
Not recently, but there have been in the past. But as you said, many times it is justified, others are just that one person or project decides that they want to remove the rewards.
I like the idea but there will always be abusers somehow , how are you going to controll selfvoting abuse ? Like people voting on their own old posts ?
Will the down / upvotes still effect peoples reputation ?
if you think they're self-voting, downvote them.
No it's a front-end with its own point system for voting, it's not going to affect anything onchain for starters.
Curation Token like Self - voting token? As we have had !HIQ few months ago, if it is like self-vote token the idea isn't too good, because you can't stop people by using at their own post's other then using for someone else.
I don't even know how to respond to this question.
HIQ was a selfvoting token?
I like the merit name but don't think it fits here
Yes by Holding HiQ tokens people were allowed to use a command like !HIQ under any post and that account with HIQ upvote the post/comment.
90% of people use their own posts to be un-voted including me !LOLZ

BEER.Hey @acidyo, here is a little bit of
BEERfrom @acgalarza for you. Enjoy it!We love your support by voting @detlev.witness on HIVE .
As a user, I do sometimes want to upvote old posts, but I think just leaving a comment is good for interaction, plus u could always leave a gift..
it would take some experimentation for sure. I currently upvote about 20 posts per day.
The idea is interesting, but at the same time I'm also worried because from what I see the votes are anonymous, so anyone can vote you down and you don't know who it was. There will always be the fear that your post won't be seen and won't receive votes, as is currently the case.
I don't fully understand; I need to read it carefully. But it sounds interesting. I'd like a more equitable curation process where everyone has the same opportunities, and where effort and creativity are valued. And if this experiment works and gives Hive a bigger boost, that would be great. I'll read it in detail; the comments are good.

It's a really interesting project. I'd like to be part of this experiment and try to change a lot of things so we can make Hive a better place. It's best to give it a try and see what happens.
The commitment of each curator and user is crucial for this experiment to achieve something significant on Hive. Anonymity is a key point to consider. And it should be used with great caution. I will continue reading and researching this.
