Cristopher Sánchez's streak of scoreless innings has come to an end, but he has seriously made his mark in several ways!
He got to a satisfying looking 50 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball. He's now top five all-time! He is the top man in Phillies history and lefty history as well! Looking at some of these names, and how far back in history it goes, I think Cristopher Sánchez's place in history will be undisturbed for awhile. Amazing, and a privilege to witness! What a time to be alive. When the streak ended, Citizens Bank Park gave Sánchez a very classy standing ovation. Philadelphia can be intense, but they also show a lot of love too.
Bravo Mr. Sánchez!!!

Despite the exciting record coming to an end, Sánchez did his job like he often does, and led the Phillies to a win! The win secured the series victory and it's the second day in a row the Phillies beat the Padres 3-2 which is kinda funny. Sánchez pitched seven innings, allowed one run, four hits, and recorded eight strikeouts. The man is just amazing!
Adolis García, who hasn't had a great year offensively, had a nice, much needed RBI double in the in the fifth. Later in the seventh, Kyle Schwarber hit his 23rd homer and J.T. Realmuto hit his 3rd, both were key solo shots.
The Phillies seek the sweep today! Zack Wheeler takes the mound. Sánchez and now Wheeler in consecutive days! If the Phillies win it all this year, these two may go down as an iconic dangerous duo!
#GOPHILLIES!!!
