I'm still recovering from that incredibly long, stressful day yesterday so this post is semi-rushed once again but hopefully my speed improves soon. Let's be honest even when I'm not rushed I can be a bit slow with these posts LOL. Just aiming for fun and consistency at the end of the day!
Well, fans at Citizens Bank Park were definitely entertained yesterday! The Phillies and White Sox were pretty locked in offensively, combining for 21 hits, 5 homers and 14 runs in what was a tightly contested contest throughout the entire nine innings!
Despite the high scoring game that the Phillies would go on to win 8-6, Jesús Luzardo still lasted six innings strong on the mound for the Phillies! He gave up five runs in that time but it was nice that a Phillies pitcher didn't have to be excellent for once. It was just a solid pro outing for Luzardo. It was clear that it was just one of those games where both teams were gonna hit well, but Luzardo sill kept the Phillies in it which I can appreciate. He kept his composure well, not every outing has to be great or horrible, sometimes you just have to be competent, which Luzardo was!
Adolis García has now homered in two consecutive games as he hit his 6th yesterday! Nice to see him stack some games all of a sudden! Brandon Marsh's awesome season continues as he also hit his 6th! Kyle Schwarber was 4 for 5, Bryce Harper and Alec Bohm each had two hits! Just a fun day, and the Phillies have officially won four straight!
Andrew Painter is on the mound today for the Phillies. I initially was of the opinion that Painter was having a rough rookie year, and it has been fairly challenging, but he's slowly been progressing I believe, which is positive!
It's a warm day in the City of Brotherly Love! Let's grab a fifth straight!
#GOPHILLIES!!!
