I've designed a picture for all who ask themselve:„ has my bad minnow cotent to stay in the blockchain forever?“
I say no, it's a shame for the blockchain to keep content, not or too minor assesed by the community. You can remove that content now and show it. My christmas present for all the minnows: CRBA- Take it if you like.

As for the "too minor assessed by the community" part: Getting traction on Steemit can be tough. And with the low price of Steem right now, even many who have good traction haven't been able to get good payouts.
There are many efforts to alleviate this, providing that the author has good content to start with. And there is the @steemprentice initiative to help those who could use some help in using the tools and perhaps improving their skills.
@Curie is looking for good content that deserves more attention, especially for new authors who they hope to encourage to stick around.
@SteemTrail has many topical curation teams focused on finding good content in specific categories. To get noticed by them, it helps a great deal to use the right tags. Otherwise they don't know how to find you.
And there are other specific related initiatives, such as @SteemNews.Online, which is striving to promote good journalism on Steemit. More such endeavors are in the works, though still in their infancy.

Nothing can be done about the blockchain keeping your material. That's how it works, so keep in mind that it is stored forever. It is the way of the future though. It might be best to find ways to leverage it rather than fight against it.

Just my 2 cents, given for free. Take it for what it's worth. :)

Merry Christmas!

Excellent info! Thank You, anotherjoe, and Merry Christmas to you!

The thing is that your content does remain. When you remove it all you're doing is sending an x replaces y message. But the blockchain has the original as well as the "update" that says "content removed".

I don't get it ! Why remove it to begin with , if you like it that's all that counts ! But I can't see it so I really can't say much more about it ! 🎅🎄

There are numerous reasons to remove content. For example: I've started to publish an extremely interesting philosophy book while I didn't know much about Steemit system, and have made linking mistake in one of the first chapters The nature of Marx’s critique of capitalism. It would be nice if I could erase that chapter and put it again with correct links.

And then, let's suppose that the author of a content changes his mind and want it deleted.

Yes, that would certainly be a very useful option.

Right ! But you can edit it out and change it ! But then it's still on the block chain . For some it doesn't mater , or they don't care . But for some it's important . Steem on !👍🎄🎅

But you can edit it out and change it !

Only for a limited time. If you miss to correct your mistake in a certain period, it stays… forever?

Oooh ! I didn't know that ! Thanks for the heads up ! Steem on ! 👍🎅🎄

May I ask, afrog, if you know, is it possible to remove content and change it with some other content at the same page URL?

Thanks to all, who replied and those who voted. Please excuse me for not answering one reply during the last few days. I've been in hospital during christmas. No, not because of eating too much greasy food. Not because of drinking too much alcohol. I've had too less sleep during the last three weeks, beeing a newbie in steemit. This guides to a bloodstream crisis. Every real man gives a sh*t on a bloodstream-crisis and goes on fighting but my wife is a nurse. No chance to escape. So, I've landed in the neurology departement, where they checked my whole matabolism. Every day they sucked my blood into five tubules. Two times they put me into big noisy tubes to get megabytes pictures of my brain and by the way, all for free. Our health system is the best all over the world.

Okay, thank you again and I don't know, if you can wipe any content from the blockchain. The only I know is, that my writing about Radio.Garden and my intoducemyself are replaced by a black butterfly-pic. Maybe some blockchain-supporter is able to read the origin content but nor me, neither you can read it again.

And yes, we mustn't complain about the upvote theme, because complaining about a thing you can't change doesn't change anything. So, I go on with writing, because the only what someone has to complain about is, when you give up hope.
