In interviews, Scott has indicated that he has an idea for how to continue the story. He suggests that the next chapter would explore themes reminiscent of The Godfather, especially focusing on the character Lucius, who, after witnessing the death of Maximus, finds himself overwhelmed by power struggles and personal conflicts. Scott envisions Gladiator 3 as a story about a man who does not want to be where he is—a narrative of internal struggle and monumental change.
