Part 6/14:
Designed to navigate the rugged terrain along the Yangtze River, this escalator serves around 9,000 daily users, reducing a formerly hour-long journey by road during peak times. Although primarily functional, the project has also become a regional landmark, blending infrastructure with tourism appeal. Notably, the escalator was manufactured by the German company Schindler, highlighting continued foreign involvement in Chinese infrastructure despite the challenging business environment.
