Making Gothic Accessories with 3D Printer / 最近3Dプリンタで作ったブレスレットと指輪

3D printers have been part of our home for about a month now.

The very first thing I made was a part for a tool used to make chopsticks. After that, I created a few small things to improve everyday life around the house. Recently, I bought a new black filament and making accessories for the gothic festival happening next week in my city.

I started with a simple bracelet. I learned how to turn black-and-white drawings into vector paths in Affinity, save them as SVG files, and then import them into Tinkercad to make thick 3D objects.

Next came rings. I wanted to project black-and-white drawings onto a 3D surface and create lace-like rings, so I started working on them while asking advices to ChatGPT. But honestly, it was frustrating — it confidently told me to use menus in Fusion 360 that didn’t even exist, as if it knew everything. When I switched to Claude, the process became somewhat smoother. Still, there are many moments where I don’t fully understand why embossing fails though. I just need more practice and experimentation. I spent most of the time of Mother’s Day staying inside, staring at Fusion, and finally managed to finish the data.

The moment I removed the supports made by the 3D printer and the ring finally appeared was really exciting. Making things is so much fun 😆

If I finish my paperwork and household tasks today and still have some time left, I’d also like to try making black bird earrings.

3Dプリンタが我が家にやってきて1ヶ月ほどが経ちました。

一番初めに作ったのはお箸を作る道具の部品で、その後は生活改善系の小さなものを作りました。ここ最近は、来週に控えたゴシックフェスティバルに向けて、黒いフィラメントを買い足してアクセサリを作っています。

まずは簡単なブレスレットから。白黒で描いた絵をAffinityでパス化して、SVGで保存して、Tinkercadで読み込んで厚みのある立体にすることをおぼえました。

次は指輪です。白黒で描いた絵を立体に投影してレースのような指輪を作りたくて、ChatGPTに相談しながら作り始めたのですが、あたかもすべてを知っているかのようにCADソフトのFusion 360の存在しないメニューを使うように言ってきたりで、正直イライラ。Claudeに切り替えるとある程度スムーズに作業できるようになりました。でも、まだよくわからずエンボスが失敗するケースがあり、練習と研究あるのみという感じです。母の日一日引きこもってFusionとにらめっこしてようやくデータができました。

3Dプリンタが作ったサポートを取り除いて行って指輪が出てきた瞬間には感動!物を作るって楽しいですね。

今日、事務作業を終えて時間があったら黒い鳥のピアスも作ってみたいです。

Thanks marajah! The bracelet is made of 6-7 rose parts printed flat. I connect the parts with jump rings. The ring is printed in ring shape ☺️
