Emotions are not an individual experience. They are a collective experience, products of a shared memory, because we are not only what we feel, remember and think we know, but also a cluster of feelings and memories of the society in which we live and of our environment; of what we've been told and what has been hidden from us.
That is why
what you feel in your gut does not come from you alone
you feel your body and the other body
your land and the other land
the step and the stomp.
When you feel gut-feelings, you feel with memory
your memories and those of the other
their pain and your pain
and everything mutates
and sometimes it gets confusing
because when you feel with your gut, you feel as an animal
because we are all wild beasts wild and uncontrollable. And we are all the others.
Las emociones no son una experiencia individual. Son una experiencia colectiva, productos de una memoria compartida, porque no solo somos lo que sentimos, recordamos y creemos saber, sino también un cúmulo de sentimientos y memorias de la sociedad en la que vivimos y de nuestro entorno; de lo que se nos ha dicho y de lo que se nos ha ocultado.
Es por eso que
lo que sientes en tus vísceras no viene solo de ti
sientes tu cuerpo y el otro cuerpo
tu tierra y la otra tierra
el paso y el pisotón.
Cuando sientes con las vísceras, sientes con la memoria
tus recuerdos y los del otro
su dolor y tu dolor
y todo muta
y a veces se vuelve confuso
porque cuando sientes con las vísceras, sientes como un animal
porque todos somos fieras salvajes e incontrolables. Y nosotros somos todos los demás.
