Emotional storms

Extrañaba un poco aquel estilo nostálgico, autodestructivo, dark que siempre me ha representado, asi que hoy hice un retrato con estas vibras… Realmente me impresiono lo genial que se ven los ojos, me encanto pintarlos y me encanto el resultado final, se puede ver una mirada cansada, agotada y triste al mismo tiempo. Realmente este retrato me representa un poco al día de hoy ya que he estado bastante triste/exhausta y siento que los días han sido muy extraños últimamente. En fin, espero que les guste.

I missed that nostalgic, self-destructive, dark style that has always represented me, so today I made a portrait with those vibes... I was really impressed by how great the eyes look, I loved painting them and I loved the final result. You can see a tired, exhausted, and sad look at the same time. This portrait really represents me a little bit today, as I've been quite sad/exhausted and feel like the days have been very strange lately. Anyway, I hope you like it.

Proceso/Process

Realicé mi boceto y comencé a pintar la piel, esta vez quería un contraste entre rojizos y verdes olivas ya que esa combinación da un aspecto bastante terrorífico y a la vez nostálgico, siento que es el tipo de paleta de color que usa en la película Evil Dead y esa película me gusta bastante jaja. En una nueva capa añadí mas colores para terminar de darle forma a todo el rostro y comenzar a difuminar, esta vez quería un resultado bastante realista y con acabado suave asi que usé el pincel difuso con opacidad media para mezclar todo.

I made my sketch and started painting the skin. This time, I wanted a contrast between reddish and olive green tones, as this combination gives a rather terrifying yet nostalgic look. I feel like it's the kind of color palette used in the movie Evil Dead, which I really like, haha. On a new layer, I added more colors to finish shaping the entire face and began to blend. This time, I wanted a fairly realistic result with a smooth finish, so I used the diffuse brush with medium opacity to blend everything together.

Jugué bastante con los tonos rojizos alrededor de los ojos y, aunque me parecía un poco exagerado tanto color rojo, no pude resistirme a agregar más y me enamoré de esa mirada porque para mí se ve profunda y llena de dolor. Tambien pinte el cabello con tonos marrones y una iluminación muy tenue de verde oliva, cambie el fondo a un azul aguamarina desaturado y agregue iluminaciones en los ojos, nariz, frente y labios para resaltarlos. Finalice realizando un leve ajuste de color para potenciar aun mas los colores.

I played around a lot with reddish tones around the eyes, and although I thought so much red was a bit exaggerated, I couldn't resist adding more and fell in love with that look because to me it seems deep and full of pain. I also painted the hair with brown tones and a very subtle olive green highlight, changed the background to a desaturated aquamarine blue, and added highlights to the eyes, nose, forehead, and lips to make them stand out. I finished by making a slight color adjustment to further enhance the colors.
