Is the End Near for Printed Books?

Here’s one that the leading lights in most fields of communication disagree with, at least on some level. So when the issue started appearing back in August, we fashioned a poll question around the debate. Digital media, and the ability to consume them is changing nearly every aspect of our lives. But we’re curious whether the good old-fashioned printed and bound book is really headed for the museums. Vote and let us know your reasons for your belief.
Do printed and bound books have a future in modern society?

The sensation of feel the paper, touch, smell make a conection between the sense and the content, that things can't be getted from a screen.

Is the end near for radio? (television)
Is the end near for television? (VHS casettes)
Is the end near for television? (Internet videos, streaming)
Is the end near for printed newspapers? (internet)

Some media died (VHS, CD, music casettes), some not. Some people can't stand e-books. Some are hearing the books with text-to-speach services. Maybe with even more limited editions but paper books can stay with us.

For brick and mortar book stores maybe. But not for books.

I am a kindle reader at the moment due to the fact that I travel and dont have access to a library. However, nothing beats the feel of a real book and I dont think they are going anywhere anytime soon!

I love printed books. Especially good, fantasy printed books.
I have complete series from the recent years.
Both in hardcover and in paperback.
Some of the books I have are even signed by the author herself.
For example the first four books from the Summer King Chronicles by Jess E. Owen.
The first four books from that series, which I have are signed hardcovers.
The fourth book from that series, which I have, in addition to the signing - are even have a drawing by the author herself.
The fifth book from that series, which I have is a paperback without signing.
But I love all of these books.
