#649 - Batad shots for Friday.

Hola Friday, TGIF! Hope all is well put there dear fellow Hivers. Its the weekend today and I got my son to join with me earlier today to go to the river and walk. We both woke up at five in the morning and walk all the way to the river and did a couple of laps in the cemented road there until the sun comes up. Around six thirty in the morning we walked all the way back home as well and we covered atleast six kilometers of distance. My son had a lot of sweat haha. Then after reaching home at seven, my mother-in-law already has already cooked rice and viands are the only thing missing. I fired up the pot and fried a couple of large chicken eggs and then also cooked a canned tuna paired with eggs as well. Then the wife also wanted me to cook two packs of instant pancit canton paired with boiled eggs. See, we like a lot of eggs here because it's a great source of protein and other vitamins. We can finish a tray for about a week only. We just make sure to use olive oil in frying and no other kind pf oil.

Any how let's get to our photos of the day. We got here a shot showing rows of rice fields that are currently empty without rice sprouts or plants because the harvest season is already over and the fields are there already prepped. The farmers here just need to make sure there are no snail shells loitering in their fields because they are pests to their plants. So in order to combat those snails, the farmers let their chickens around to eat them. It's the a nice view seeing this in greens, do you also notice the man in blue in the middle? He is checking the water flowing to his own farm. Water here is freely coming from the highlands so they don't have any problems with water source.

Then we have here a bumble bee checking on this pink zinia or daisy like flower. The bee also has a lot of pollens collected already which are deposited in its hind legs, those yellow ones are the nectars. And do you see the background? Best job ever for this bee at a great spot with awesome view around it.

Then we could see here another farmer busy uprooting plants that are not supposed to be in their lot. The farmer has an umbrella cap as their protection from the hot sun.

This is like a side view of some of the rice terraces. It shows how they were built using rocks which is understandable that the terraces withstood time for centuries. There are also visitors with their backpacks trying to descend from the steps. They are most likely going to the water falls which is on the other side of the mountain.

Lastly is a magnificent view of the amphitheater of rice terraces. Going here is peaceful especially if you are overwhelmed by work. Staying here for a day or two will make you appreciate what you are missing in life because we are too focused with money. Life here is peaceful and slow but is definitely healthy. Locals are shy but friendly too. The rice they serve you are organic which came from these rice fields. We have been here twice already and still want to go back once more just to free relax and destress.😉
