Hello, steemians, and welcome to my page, eh!
This is another post about wild animals that I've taken pictures of during my travels while doing service calls for my former job. These pictures were taken in February of 2009 about 6 or 7 miles outside of Peshtigo, WI on a county road. The area is pretty much all farm country so there's a lot of fields. I was driving to get to a service call in Peshtigo and I came across these birds, just walking along the side of the road. They were probably looking for small grit to swallow for their gizzards, but who really knows with birds. These birds may have escaped from a local hunting preserve, they're normally not found this far north.
Anyway, here they are, the pheasants in the winter. A male and a female ringneck pheasant.
They split up when I got up to them with the car and stopped. The male just stood there for a minute.
The female came running back as the male started moving down the road.
They were both pretty nervous by this time, and moving.
They ended up flying off across the field to get away from the car. It was a pretty cool experience for be because I've only seen a few wild pheasants, and that was when I was downstate for a trip.
Well, that's all I have for this post, I hope you enjoyed it!

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my post, eh!
As always, feel free to leave a comment or a question if you'd like.
May the steem nuggets ever be in your favor!
Beautiful creatures, you can sense they are nervous because of the car and your presence but they are always a beauty to watch and appreciate.
Nice post.. we hardly give importance to these birds and animals when we travel but thanks to you for making us feel their existence..

Yes, very beautiful birds indeed. Thank you for sharing
All of our snow melted here. Love the pictures of it and the pheasants to!
Maybe they were hitchhiking...?
Great catch!
Beautiful birds. We used to live near the woods and they often came to our yard. The children left them food and water.
Sweet memorys.
