Running, a song collaboration between myself and RockChickJen

Hello, steemians, and welcome to my page, eh!

This track is a collaboration between myself and @rockchickjen
This is a song that she posted on her page several weeks back, just her voice and acoustic guitar. The link to her post is here.

Right away after hearing the track, I knew that I wanted to do something with it. Summer is usually not a very good time for me to work on musical projects, so it sat in my mind for a while before I finally decided to fire up Audacity and work on adding some tracks to the song. I ended up adding a bass track, a distorted guitar track, and a vocal harmony to the track. For the bass track, I plugged the bass guitar directly into the audio interface and recorded the track. For the distorted guitar track, I ran the guitar through my vintage Rat distortion pedal and ran that directly into the audio interface. My Focusrite Scarlett Solo audio interface has a high impedance input that is switchable between line level and instrument level sensitivity, so I can run effects pedals directly into the interface.
The last track that I did was to add a harmony vocal to the chorus of the song, and a couple of other places. I was pretty happy with the results, so I sent the resulting mix to Jen for her approval before writing this post.

Here is the soundcloud link to the song, I hope you enjoy it!

Nive collaboration between two talented artists, enjoyed thevharmonies and the slightlybominous dar cadence to it...
Sigh we can't be always running yet somehow we do sometimes. Until we realize we need to catch some air

Killer collaboration! That guitar is like the icing on the already delicious cake..... I kinda get the urge to play some simple drums to it... it may clutter it though. Sounds great! Top job 👍

Thanks!
I think the subtle application of drums could be interesting with this song.

I think that'd be a great idea @thomasrobertgent!!! She did killer on this one man! I loved it!!!! @amberyooper our voices sound so amazing together! \m/

Thank you! I thought so also! Any time you want a harmony vocal, just let me know. :-)

Sounds great, guys! I apparently missed Jen’s original post, so I had to go back and listen to it as well. This turned out very nice! :)
