Work stays at work

On the way home from work, even the breeze tastes sweet. It’s such a blessing to have a job where work stays at work and life stays at life.

With an 8-hour workday and a 2-hour lunch break, I get four precious hours of "me time" after I clock out. I have so many hobbies—anything DIY catches my eye. Beading, clay modeling, painting... these are the little joys that fill my spare time. Sometimes I’ll pick up a book, but more often than not, I’m just scrolling through Douyin, Xiaohongshu, or Bilibili. Once I start watching videos, those four hours vanish in the blink of an eye.

I am the master of my own time; I can choose instant gratification or delayed happiness. But occasionally, after a scrolling session, a wave of melancholy hits. As I’m falling asleep, I find myself questioning the ultimate meaning of life.

At work, I can't check my phone. When things get slow, watching the clock tick by is actually quite painful. I’m the type of person who dreads having nothing to do. Time flies when I’m busy, but when I’m idle, every second feels like an eternity.
