It is important to know the physiological function of our entire human body, this includes the pharynx. As health personnel we must know about the entire human body and its correct function in order to diagnose any pathology successfully and as soon as possible.
La faringe al ser dividida en tres partes, una superior media e inferior se encarga de realizar diferentes procesos en nuestro organismo el cual ayuda a mantener la homeostasis.
The pharynx being divided into three parts, an upper middle and lower one is responsible for carrying out different processes in our body which helps to maintain homeostasis.
¿Qué función cumple la faringe en nuestro cuerpo? / What function does the pharynx fulfill in our body?
La faringe cumple con diferentes procesos fisiológicos tales como la deglución, la respiración, la fonación y la audición.
The pharynx fulfills different physiological processes such as swallowing, breathing, phonation, and hearing.
También se puede decir que la faringe cumple con funciones de deglución, fonación, respiratoria e inmunológica.
It can also be said that the pharynx fulfills swallowing, phonation, respiratory and immune functions.
Función respiratoria:
Su función respiratoria consiste en captar el aire desde las fosas nasales y la cavidad bucal hasta llevarlo a la laringe que luego procederá a llegar a los sacos pulmonares.
Respiratory function: Its respiratory function consists of capturing the air from the nostrils and the oral cavity to take it to the larynx, which will then proceed to reach the pulmonary sacs.
Función de deglución:
Tiene función de deglución debido a que todo alimento que consumimos pasará por la faringe en su parte media hasta el esófago.
Swallowing function: It has a swallowing function because all food we consume will pass through the pharynx in its middle part to the esophagus.
Función de fonación:
Participa en la fonación, es decir que ayuda en la producción de voz y articulación de palabras a través del velo del paladar y el timbre de la voz.
Phonation function: It participates in phonation, that is, it helps in the production of voice and articulation of words through the soft palate and the timbre of the voice.
Función inmunológica:
Su función inmunológica ocurre gracias a los elementos linfoides que se consiguen en la faringe, tales como la amígdalas palatinas, las amígdalas faríngeas o también conocidas como adenoides y las amígdalas lingual.
Immune function: Its immune function occurs thanks to the lymphoid elements that are obtained in the pharynx, such as the palatine tonsils, the pharyngeal tonsils or also known as adenoids and the lingual tonsils.
Gracias al conocimiento fisiológico de la faringe se logran conocer diversas patologías con respecto a su ubicación, además de favorecer el estudio de un diagnóstico.
Thanks to the physiological knowledge of the pharynx, it is possible to know various pathologies with respect to its location, in addition to favoring the study of a diagnosis.
