Muy buenas a todos en Hive y a la comunidad de Hive Book Club hoy quiero hablarle de uno de mis primeros libros que me han llevado a conocer la lectura y a entender que no todo está plasmado en películas y series que como buen millennial que soy estoy tan acostumbrado, la verdad siempre fui de otras fuentes más actuales para adentrarme en la lectura pero fue hasta conocer de John Katzenbach que verdaderamente me interese por los libros, y como dice el dicho, "no es que no te gustan los libros es que aun no has encontrado el libro que te gusta".
Alguna vez han tenido la sensación de ser acechados, me imagino que sí, quizás de camino al trabajo o de regreso a casa, justos cuando vamos caminando por la calle o quizás cuando nos sentamos en un café o en un parque, podemos sentir esa mirada que pareciera pasar a través de todo y cuando volteamos no llegamos a distinguir quién es.
Pues imagínense por un segundo que esta sensación nunca nos deja que siempre permanece que nos da pequeños momentos de tranquilidad pero que al día siguiente siempre aparece, imagínate que de la noche a la mañana esta inquietud no te deja, al contrario crece, que ya no solo es una mirada es una figura que te afecta, que altera todo lo que haces, que sin darte cuenta, perjudica amigos a familiares, que se involucra contigo de tal manera que no sientes escape y que lo peor de todo es que le conoces y hasta sabes su nombre.

Este libro nos presenta la vida de Ashley Freeman una joven estudiante de universidad que se ve involucrada con un hombre que decide tomarla como su objeto de mayor deseo y que hará todo por tenerla, convirtiendo la vida de Ashley en una espiral de eventos funestos que la llevaran a ella y a su familia a una situación de no retorno cuyo único objetivo será deshacerse de la influencia de este psicópata y al mismo tiempo entender el peligro que se haya tras el nombre de Michael O'Connell.
Debo admitir que este no es el primer libro que leí de John Katzenbach pero fue con el que verdaderamente me enganche en su lectura habla de muchos temas que en su tiempo eran polémicos y su narrativa es la típica de misterio, pero donde mas brilla el libros es la perspectiva que nos narra el antagonista, este inquietante personaje que esta al filo de la sociedad manteniendo un perfil bajo, pero con cualidades que lo hacen sumamente peligroso y que a lo largo de contarnos su historia mediante varios hechos, nos damos cuenta de lo poderosa que es su presencia en la vida de todos los que lo han conocido, generando demasiada curiosidad por saber qué hará en el futuro.

Este libro es muy bueno. Me gusto el enfoque que le aplicaban al antagonista, aunque no tan implacable como para llegar a matar como los anteriores personajes que crea el autor. Asi como tambien la mala decisión de Ashley al toparse con semejante sujeto, pero eso refuerza la vivacidad de la historia. A cualquiera nos puede pasar algo por el estilo.
si tal cual @ricardo993 el antagonista lo que mas me impresiono es que no es un asesinó que tiene un fetiche o motivación para matar es un hombre que si necesita hacerlo lo hace pero de lo contrario sus acciones intimidan a través de otras acciones y su propia presencia.
Me leí el Psicoanalista, me gustó bastante, me recomendaron "La historia del Loco" sin duda un muy buen escritor, éste también parece interesante. Saludos.
realmente el psicoanalista fue mi primer libro de este autor pero el que mas me impacto fue este, la historia del loco aun no lo leo, pero de este 100% recomendado.
