I assure you that I have never seen anything like it. In fact, when I quickly glanced at the first photo without reading the caption, I thought it was a very rare species of ant, because it was so thin. But it's a fly! That detail on its head and its eyes on the sides is incredible. I suppose it has a wider field of vision. Its wings also caught my attention because of their colour and pattern. This is also my first encounter of this species. It is easy for me to notice it is some kind of fly, as I observe it when it fly, but I was so surprised to see its eyes are actually on the side.
