A year ago I was in my classroom and it was in complete chaos. Chairs were overturned, papers flew across the floor, and students screamed in panic. It all started when smoke suddenly burst from the science lab.
“Fire!” my friend shouted.
Panic spread instantly. A boy named Daniel had been bathing in the hostel bathroom nearby when he heard the loud explosion. Terrified, he grabbed only a towel and ran outside barefoot, water still dripping from his body. His heart pounded as students pushed past one another trying to escape.
Our teacher struggled to control the crowds while thick smoke filled the air. Some students cried, others froze in fear. Daniel looked back at the building, shaking badly as flames flickered through a broken window.
Within minutes, firefighters arrived and managed to stop the fire before it spread further. Luckily, no one was seriously hurt, but the school was left in a terrible mess.
That day became a day nobody in the school will ever forget.
