The month of October is really a festival of pumpkins !... it is a period that I love by its colors and its smells, the best of the autumn in beautiful party dress !
Here in Annecy, France we have two highly anticipated feasts in October :
- the return of the Alps which is an event filling the old city of colors of autumn, animals descending pastures, folk traditions and music ...
- The feast of the district of Albigny in Annecy Le Vieux, with the hardly pronounceable name Ancileviennerie and which is roughly similar like the previous one as for the ancient trades animations, the farm animals and the jovial and mountain atmosphere
These two events are unfortunately only a week apart ...
I say "unfortunately" because they are very similar and I do not necessarily want to attend the same feast two weekends in a row .. .
I usually go to the one where the sun is expected as a surprise guest 😃
Although I have to say over the years that it is rare that these days of festivities are not sunny, we usually have a beautiful autumn, how lucky we are !
Le mois d'octobre est le festival de la courge et la citrouille par excellence ...c'est une période que j'adore par ses couleurs et ses odeurs, le meilleur de l'automne en habit de fête !
Ici à Annecy, nous avons deux fêtes très attendues au mois d'octobre :
- la descente des Alpages qui est un évenement remplissant la vieille ville de couleurs d'automne, de bêtes descendant des paturages, de traditions folkloriques et de musiques...
- La fête du quartier d'Albigny à Annecy Le Vieux, au nom imprononçable d'Ancileviennerie et qui est à peu près semblable quant aux animations de vieux métiers, aux animaux de la ferme et à l'ambiance joviale et montagnarde.
Ces deux évenements ne sont malheureusement espacés que d'une semaine...
je dis "malheureusement" car elles sont très semblables et moi je n'ai pas forcément envie d'assister à la même fête deux week-ends d'affilée...
en général je vais à celle où le soleil est prévu comme invité surprise 😃
Bien que je dois dire au fil des ans qu'il est bien rare que ces fêtes ne soient pas ensoleillées, nous avons généralement un très bel automne, chanceux que nous sommes !

This Sunday I'd like to go to a talk by a Crystal Healer who grew up in a number of indigenous communities around Oz. But at the same time, 20 different artists are holding an open studio.
