Monthly Progress Report August

My monthly progress reports serve a couple of purposes:

  • The first one, and primary reason for doing them, is that it allows me to see where I have been, where I am going, and where I am falling short in my personal goals.

  • The second purpose they serve is to let people, new accounts and old, see an honest representation of an account built from scratch and not really knowing anything at all about cryptocurrency.

Monthly Charts and Tables

The Monthly Progress Report Table:

table explaination.png

If things continue at the rate they have been, I will be very close to my goal of 10,000 HP by years end. I am currently 754 HP shy of that goal. For the first 8 months this year I have averaged about 172 HP being added to my account through earnings and curation. The trend has been increasing slightly every month so with only four months to go current trend would give me 688 additional HP toward my year end goal. Just a little short of the 754 needed. So if I can manage a few more post, and then a little extra earnings from Hive-Engine tokens I am pretty sure I will make it.

Curation rewards, I am absolutely astounded by that number. I broke 100 HP for the month.

Earnings Pie.png

Now if I can only get the other two income amounts to balance out with curation I will be well on my way to my goal.

Account Growth.png

A nice steady smooth climb so far this year, I hope all stays on track for the next four months.

As mentioned above I do have some funds in Hive-Engine and if needed at the end of the year I will dip into them. My goal is to have 12 Holding tokens that give back either in the form of dividends or drips of other tokens so I see these nine I currently hold as Fund type tokens, with the exception of APE.
Hive-Engine Tokens.png
The green highlights are my holdings as of yesterday afternoon. APE is a brand new token working on a different concept than the other Fund Type tokens I am holding. Not sure how it will work long term but we will see.

I am still having fun learning about the Pivot Table function in LibreOffice, so far I think it is work good for my needs and allows me to see the actions on Hive Engine a bit better.

The other new token I added was Utopis, a dividend fund type token. For the month of September I will not be adding any new tokens, instead I will be working on building out my current holdings.

I was able to get one more EDSM, increase my Bro Token to 9, along with obtaining my beginings in APE and UTOPIS. My ArchonM also got a couple small increases, but they are one of my most expensive tokens. I eventually would like to get it back to the 7 tokens I had at one time, and then eventually to 10.

So September goals is 110 SPI, my very first Fund Type token, and the one that took some real effort to get to 100 as new tokens were coming on-line at Hive Engine.

Next would be to get to 4.545 ArchonM's, then to get to 10 BRO tokens. My LBI tokens will continue to just ride along for another month unless I get real lucky because I would also like to make it to 9 EDSM by the end of the month, that will be the last one to try to fill in September.

That pretty much concludes the financial side of my Hive activities, now to the side that made that all possible.

Engagement Charts and Tables:

Monthly Replies amd Comments.png
I had a slightly more involved month than the previous, but looking at the chart with the exception of April and May, I am somewhat consistent for the year. That consistency is is pretty nice to see, there will always be times we are more active and times we are less active but in the long run there can be some consistency seen when charted out.

Monthly Post.png
Unlike the Comments and replies, there is no real rhyme or reason to my posting efforts some months are up some months are down, and I hope I will have at one or two of the remaining four months of the year in an uptrend.

The Engagement League Info

Daily Comments.png
A few good days of commenting and a few not so good days. I really need to work on returning back to at least 10 comments a day.

Weekly engagement comment activity.png
For the last three weeks it looks like a slight upward trend in my comment activity, I hope I can continue that trend and as mentioned get to at least ten a day comments.

Weekly engagement standing.png
Remember on this chart the goal is to be close to the bottom of the chart, not the top. More postings, more comments and I may get back in the mid thirties of the standings instead of the forties. At least I have remained on the chart since that one time I fell off, I hope to finish the year out with out missing out on the top 100 again.

Conclusion, side notes, and HPUD:

HPUD:
I was able to power up the minimum needed to obtain a Hive power Up bee badge, I would like to do more than the minimum, but there are also other financial goals to consider, a balancing act so to say. I am looking forward to the Monthly Bee Badge, hopefully that will work out and I won't suddenly drop from almost 2 hive a day curation to less than one, because I am pretty sure after four plus years on chain I am not going to be able to make a post a day.

Side Note:
I am still having a lot of fun exploring spreadsheets and the function of spreadsheets. I continue to test and explore the Pivot table.

Conclusion:
There are many ways to earn and play and socialize on Hive none are exclusive of the other and there is room for all types of content and people and options on Hive. it takes time and Hive is not easy to learn, but there is so much to Hive Block Chain and the choices and options seem to grow everyday. APE mining game is a good example something new, something untried, something to learn about and explore, will it be a success, will it spawn others to do similar things, time will tell as we all learn the ins and outs of it.

Hive Power Up Day - September 1st 2021 - Hive Power Delegation

So neat and well reperesented data.
Did your work included presentations and excel a lot? I don't see people going to this length just to showcase their data.
Or maybe most people are just lazy.

Btw, why don't you play Dcity. It's a bit of strategy and maths game with cool nfts.

You will love it. And people will love your data charts about which cards are good for prices and which are going costly.

Take a look at one of its recent edition here

I mostly do not have time for another game right now, maybe when winter gets here.
No my job never involved spreadsheets, but I liked what a few others were showing with spreadsheets about 3 years ago, and so I downloaded LibreOffice, (I can't afford Excel), and started learning about them and how to use them. I find it kind of fun actually.

!PIZZA

@looftee! I sent you a slice of $PIZZA on behalf of @stevenwood.

Have you voted for Pizza teams Hive witness (pizza.witness)? (4/10)

I know I have said it before, but I absolutely love how organised you are with this stuff. I envy that immensely, I wish I had the discipline and the technical wherewithal to track, monitor, and record all of the data so that I could look objectively at my journey afterward to see if I am on course for where I hoped I would be.

I have always had the utmost respect for the fact that you are never flashy, ever pragmatic, and do not set goals that will place you under pressure and take away from the enjoyment you get from being a part of the community here.

That curation monthly milestone was nice to see, it is nice for a newcomer to see what happens when you do what you do and be consistent, and stick around. I am sure that you too remember seeing those 0.001 rewards coming in from ginabot each day wondering if they would ever actually trickle over into the heady heights of 0.002 territory.

Once those pesky exponentials 'kick in' and real compounding begins, all bets are off. I do hope you find the extra time and the will to put out those extra few posts before year's end, that 10K milestone looks like a fitting and meaningful year-end target.

Great to cross paths with you, I hope you and yours are doing wonderfully well and life is good. :)

Thank you, I remember my first tracking post, and I think I have come a long way, and I still learn new things all the time in LibreOffice spreadsheet, that has made a lot of difference.

Love seeing all this data analysis! Boggles my mind how I'd pull this type of info personally but I'm still learning. :)

A lot of it is entered manually from PeakD tools page, and Leo-stats page, and hive task. For my quarterly table most of it is copy past from hive-engine pages, though they recently made some changes and now I have to factor in a correction that I am not happy about. I am hoping one day someone will have a simple program to just input the token name and get the info that is wanted.

Nice - thanks for sharing and I'll have to dig around and find out where those PeakD tools live.

I don't know which front end to Hive block chain you use, there are several now. PeakD.com was one of the first alternatives to Hive.blog the mothership so to speak of the Hive block chain.

On PeakD if you click your user name you get a menu with the basic options. The Tools menu is right below the wallet. I use it for keeping track of my post, comments and replies. I use to use it for tracking my rewards, but I found that https://hivetasks.com/ was easier to read the numbers. you just need to check and record every three or four days because they only hold 7 days of info, peakd you can go back a pretty good ways.

Super helpful - thank you! I'm using a mix of front ends, usually Engrave but I've mixed it up for video and or photo posts.

I think LBI might be a good choice as another token to work on since its fairly cheap right now. It was a bit crazy because I saw LBI being sold for cheaper than the price of LEO.

It's nice to know you can reach your goal if you add in a few more posts.

It is, and I like having all the dividend type funds like LBI.
