I have tried a few of those sites like Elance and Freelancer. The problem I kept running into was filtering through all the noise to find something that actually fits my skills and local situation. What helped me more than those big international platforms was a site where I could browse freelance work by category in a way that made sense for my market. It had pricing guides, payment tips, and actual advice for freelancers starting out. Much more practical than competing with hundreds of people on global sites. Definitely worth a look if you are tired of the usual Upwork and Fiverr grind.
