And there's some disagreement and controversy between Linux distributions or even within a Linux distribution over which of the package formats is best. And so Linux is an ever evolving, ever growing, ever improving operating system. And these kinds of new things crop up from time to time and they eventually settle out. And if there's not one standard, there's two or three that people will go by depending on what your distribution is. And for the most part, especially for new users, you just let all that turmoil and confusion and disagreement and re-agreement and collaboration, you let that go on in the background and you just go ahead and use the software.
