Steem thought - Steeming for your Muse

The Muses of Greek and Roman mythology were said to be the daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne (goddess of memory) and the inspirational goddesses of literature, science and the arts. Is it any wonder that throughout history, we have shown a tendency to attribute such potent, oft incomprehensible, and profound means of expression to powerful forces or gods? Of course not. A piece of writing can inspire thousands of years of history, a piece of art can bring thousands to tears and a piece of scientific knowledge can create a war. The consequences of what inspires us radiates out, generating in turn, further inspiration and motivation within others. An endless dance of cause and effect and only occasionally punctuated by justice.

I think anything can be a Muse. Inspiration and motivation can come from anywhere or anyone; a person, an animal, a memory, an idea, a dream, a book, a poem or a vision. The nature of the inspiration is not important, only that it exists. Inspiration is being aware of the journey and motivation is ensuring you embark upon it. Surely we can hope that eventually, the sum total of what has inspired and motivated every human will amount to something inclusive and incredible.

To muse is to think deeply. How many Steemers have found themselves musing upon Steemit lately? How many have imagined what will become of us if we get it right? Thousands of people certainly seem to have been inspired and motivated to join the Steemchain, to look deeper at the world, to find new creativity, to re-evaluate perspectives, to learn something new. As one of those people, the Steemchain has now become one of my many, occasionally disfunctional, but no less cherished muses. Alongside my daughter, space and this beautiful and terrible Earth.

Very beautifully written and never a truer word spoken. I've "mused" many a time over Steemit, lol.

I like the idea :The Muses of Greek and Roman mythology and you just inspired me. Keep it up @benjojo, you must be followed.

I haven't been creating too much, but I have been musing on a lot of other people's music. One of my favorite bands, Kayo Dot, mentions Mnemosyne on their second album. I think I'll write about their newest album next.

Awesome! Great idea!

Just don't let her go...

Cool image ;))

O, it's only screenshot from old Soviet cartoon from 1968. It's story how to shoot movies. Very cool.

Interesing thoughts @benjojo Everyone should find their own muse

We will all need a great deal of help in order to sustain worthwhile contributions to the Steemchain.

anything that motivates us, may be our muse. right now learn new things is what motivates me to be here, learning and thinking about how to provide for that learning to other

I also think STEEM is Minerva, the goddess of wisdom :D
or,
Apollo, god of Knowledge & intellect ...

It takes a LOT of inspiration to be the change in this world, and we give thanks for anything that keeps the fire burning! Luckily, we at the Garden of Eden serve as our own muse--there's not too much worth aspiring to elsewhere, but we live based on values. https://steemit.com/homelessness/@gardenofeden/sustainable-community-illegally-feeds-the-homeless

It's really exciting to be part of this new platform with its many layers of profound implications. These are thoughtful points you've shared--it's totally worth celebrating all of the things that encourage new ideas, communication, and connection! Thank you!

It can be hard to be inspired these days with everything going on in the world. Constantly being reminded how bad things are by most news outlets and media... But when you feel that spark of inspiration, like you mentioned, it doesn't matter where it comes from -- it can send a shiver through your whole body. Thanks for the post. CHEERS!

Have you considered cutting out the news and media or tried it? I remember thinking about news outlet where only positive news would be published, maybe steemit could have #positivenews tag built up just for that.

Yes indeed. Despite the news being mainly poor quality propaganda, I still found it very hard. I think the positiveNews tag is a fantastic idea!

i agree, the shorter the supply, the more valuable it is :))

Steemit has definitely introduced me to some new ideas that I haven't given much thought to before. Always good to gain some fresh perspective even if I don't always agree with everything I see here.

Hopefully we will learn enough that our differences can become less acute.

Good information!
Thank you benjojo!

Absolutely true, but should use it @benjojo

Great post.
I agree with you. Yest, steem is the god of inspiration.

So true!

The nature of the inspiration is not important, only that it exists.

omg :) amazing post about steemit. thanks bro :)

your writing skill is also inspired me. ......... great :D

This line ......... "I think anything can be a Muse. Inspiration and motivation can come from anywhere or anyone; a person, an animal, a memory, an idea, a dream, a book, a poem or a vision." ......... of your post is the most beautiful.

Thank you. Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement.

I tried to think deeply what i can write for steemit and none pop out from my brain, i have totally run out of idea what to write

What do you love outside of Steemit? Perhaps you could write about these?

i sure could use some of this musing, being in steemit 24/7 has saturated me, there's just too much information around.. which makes me wonder, have i lost something? quoting @arnob "I also think STEEM is Minerva, the goddess of wisdom or Apollo, god of Knowledge & intellect" i totally agree with him, i've learned so much in here, but still can't find motivation.. if i may, i would like to ask all the people that commented. What Motivates You?

Well I wouldn't have learned about cryptocurrencies if it wasnt for steemit... I'm an addict now, even tho I haven't won much, It's like playing a "Wise man's Lottery"... So yes, Steemit has inpired me! :)
