Litecoin ($LTC) - Created in 2011 as an alternative to Bitcoin with lesser time intervals between adding new blocks to its Blockchain and mined using the Script algorithm compared to $BTC's SHA 256. I believe Litecoin will appreciate greatly in 2018, especially as the Bitcoin Civil War continues. Based on the number of coins in comparison to Bitcoin, Litecoin should be 1/4 of the $BTC price.
Encrypgen ($DNA) - This is my favorite project and one that I think will absolutely thrive in 2018. The Gene-Chain offers enhanced security for safe cloud storage and sharing of genomic data via the blockchain. Encrypgen has first mover advantage and is way ahead of any project in this space, not to mention a team with multiple doctorates.
Stellarlumens ($XLM) - A free, open-source network that lets users create low-cost financial products for their community and focuses on non-profit distribution of wealth to the masses on an international level. Any project backed by the Collison brothers (Stripe founders) is worth talking about.
Civic ($CVC) - I am a huge fan of Civic, as this project is poised to disrupt "Login with Facebook" with it's identity management solutions for businesses and individuals. I was excited to see Civic token already being integrated into websites.
Basic Attention Token ($BAT) - I really cannot understand why this project does not have more hype. Founded by Brendan Eich, Creator of JavaScript and Mozilla and backed by Founder's Fund and Peter Thiel, Basic Attention Token represents engagement between users, publishers, and advertisers.
