It is not secret to anyone that young people throughout history were always more attracted to leftist ideologies, promises, and populist rhetoric than any other group of voters, both Mussolini and Hitler had a large number of young people who supported them. Today young people follow the same rule, and more than ever present in the millennial generation, of course, there are some exceptions, as is the case in Venezuela, given that most of these young people had to live the reality of pure socialism. These young people do not even know what is left or what is right. They don't doubt the political categories, but they don't have the slightest idea, they don't read about these things, they don't get information, they don't care, and even though they are well educated academically, they don't have the slightest idea of what real life is. And that's why most young people have a heart but no head.

And what really link them?✅ The first is that leftists and young people have a totally irrational affinity for idealism and both assume that if no one seeks to correct an immediate problem it is only because of lack of will. In young people, the character of impatience is something common that is being corrected with the pass of time and maturing. It is this eagerness to want to solve all the problems quickly, which empathizes with the ideas of the left, with utopias, which seek to solve a problem in the short term and not in the long term, leaving the reality of the problem and generating an even greater one in the future.
✅ The second factor is that most young people are pre-materialistic, suspicious of any event or explanation that includes supernatural elements. So they assume that religions are false, if we see how believers are the generations we will see that as time goes by, more people disassociating themselves from religious beliefs is growing, so that today the number of millennial believers is lower than that of Generation X. And this is why the political left, in turn, boasts of atheism, abuses the adjective scientific to refer to its doctrines and the materialism in history. It is the left that has really promoted a war against religions throughout its two hundred years of history.
Let us be honest, rational formation and rigorous reflections are not the strength of most young people. Furthermore, our media culture and immediate results tend to intensify the feelings over the facts, and it is with age and experience in the world, and also being aware of one's mistakes, that all these factors diminish, and the gullibility of youth is left behind, they also have an immature capacity to let themselves be carried away by their feelings, to the point of simply voting for the candidates of their favorite artists, such as Beyonce, Jay-Z, Miley Cyrus, and these are not things that come from my head, people like Ann Coulter, Ben Shapiro and Poul Joseph Watson also believe that young people do not vote according to what is beneficial to society, only what their artists think.✅ The third and final factor is the moral sense that identifies young people and the left. Because they are young they have little to ask for forgiveness or to give thanks for, and much more to demand. This develops a sense of ethical urgency, and from this, the revolutionary sense of youth is born. Marx wanted to see history as a class struggle, where the good guys were the workers, the poor, and the bad guys were the capitalists, the rich guys. No serious economist bases his theories on them. However, as a political tool, it has undeniable value: it describes a world divided between the good and the bad. That same pattern has been picked up by feminists, African Americans, homosexuals. So for young people and their impatient moral sense, these niches are seen as the causes to fight for.
So why should they vote?
So why should they vote? Nowadays most young people between 18 and 25 years old care less and less about everything related to politics, all they care about is parties, their image on social networks and staying at home playing Fornite and GTA. So why should they vote when they don't care what the outcome will be? In Western countries, the number of young people aged 18 to 25 living with their parents is increasing more and more compared to previous generations. So the impact of these young people's decisions will end up affecting their parents and adult generations and not them directly. And well one could argue that not all young people vote for what their artist says or that not all live with their parents. That's true, there is a group of young people who go to universities and get prepared, but even so it's not enough, there is still a gigantic lack of experience, and it's no secret that most professors in Western universities have an irrational affinity for leftist idealism. Young people continue to sympathize with everything and everyone and demand equality, without even realizing that it is their taxes that really fund all these kinds of plans for social justice. But beware, one of the reasons why millennials live with their parents is in order not to pay taxes. See the kind of contradictions in their reasoning?

There are young people who have really learned the weight of the consequences of their actions, which things are worthwhile and not worthless, and values like punctuality and commitment and long-term thinking are absolutely true, there are young people who have these abilities. Because there are, it is totally false to argue that maturity is given to you by time, it is not so. There are people whose maturity comes much earlier than many adults. The problem comes when most of those groups of people do not have these characteristics.
What I want to get to is that there should be more regulations regarding the vote of the youth population, today young people are doing tremendous damage to Europe, they support failed multiculturalism, abortion laws, state interventionism, dependence on the state and even want to give more power to governments. I strongly disagree that at 18 most of that group of people are mature enough and experienced enough to vote. It's not until you're 21 that you're considered an adult to drink alcohol, so why shouldn't you be an adult to vote at 21?

I think voting age should be 20 or 21 I think. When I voted when I was 18, only voted the same as parents. By 21 that was not the case. Upvoted :)

I have seen and actually done this as I am part of a political faction in one of the provinces of my country.
We supply alcohol and parties during the campaign period, bring local celebrities, use of social media to make trending videos and memes that capture the imagination of the youth.
I have been to the dark side and used branding and psychological triggers to do these. To overcome the apathy and lack of interest of young people.

Exactly why Nigerian politicians make out of the world promises, yet the youth needs something to believe in and ignore all their doubts.
Yet these politicians eagerly criticize the youth even on international stage. And the cycles continue, maybe with another politicians with the same strategy.
