My husband and I are thinking of getting married! πŸ™πŸ’—

A little bit of background...

My husband and I have been together since the beginning of 2021, so we have known each other for a little over 5 years now. We immediately became pregnant within only a month of knowing one another, which obviously was not planned, but I knew in my heart that it was with a man I wanted to be with.

Thankfully, he felt the same way, and over the years, we have welcomed four children together (two here on earth, and two in heaven πŸͺ½).

Neither of us gave much thought to marriage -- I simply call him "husband" already because we've both agreed to stay committed to each other, just minus the government's involvement. We don't follow the religious institutions because of what they preach, so we never saw a priest as a requirement either.

But I knew what WAS a requirement: God, of course! I knew that God needed to witness our union, so that He could honor and bless the marriage. Because of this, I was consumed with guilt: what could God honor if we consciously refused to get married, and thereby refused His presence?...

Suddenly, a voice, not of my own Being -- God Himself -- spoke to me. All He said was, "Why don't you just get married anyway?" and I instantly knew what was meant.

My husband and I need only recite our vows before God; nobody else. We can write our wedding the way God intended, and not in accordance with the institutions.

And so, that's just what we've been doing! πŸ˜„ My husband agreed, and we will be wed according to God's Word, the way HE intended the ceremony to be. I have already been picking out Bible passages, the first of which will obviously be Genesis. I have a couple from Song of Songs. Proverbs has also offered some useful passages:

"Better to live on a corner of a roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife." (Proverbs 21:9)

I am very optimistic about this! πŸ™πŸ’› I never imagined that I would ever seriously contemplate marriage, yet here we are, at 31 and 45-years-old πŸ˜‚ We do not have specifics in mind just yet, only that we will be out in nature, planning for spring or autumn, and only celebrating with those we actually WANT to witness (which, so far, is just our children LOL! πŸ˜„).

That is awesome news!

Never too late, I was 37 when I got married and my wife was your age too.

Blessings to you both!

Thank you for the encouragement, and that's amazing for you and your wife as well πŸ˜„πŸ™

(I might be sharing a bit too soon, but the Lord has also blessed us with a positive pregnancy test! πŸ€žπŸ™ Please God, everything works out...)

Double blessing!!!!
