Hello Steemians!

@theaustrianguy had a great idea. If you travel abroad, knowing a few words in a local language can often help in a variety of situations.
Let's start our POLISH-CRASH-COURSE. Only the most necessary words and sentences. You can read or print. Maked up especially for Steemians.

Sometimes you will need a vowel ɛ – it sounds like „e” in „bed”. Remember that in Polish „r” is pronounced like in Spanish - very clearly and vividly.
And remember – Polish is quite easy. Just try!

In Kraków

Steemfest will take over Kraków (try to spell it like Crackooff)- one of the most beautiful cities in Poland, full of monuments, romantic places, museums and restaurants with specialties of local cuisine. So you have to see the most interesting places in Kraków, try a few things to eat and drink, maybe buy something as a souvenir and do not get lost on the way.

How to get to Main Square (Wawel, Kazimierz)?
Yak doydɛ na Rineck (Vavɛl, Kasimyesh)?

Two tickets please. One ticket please.
Poproshe dva beelɛty. Poproshe beelɛt.

I'd like some Polish dish.
(pierogies, bigos, pork breaded cutlet with cabbage, cucumber soup, broth, żurek - sour rye soup, tripe soup)
Poproshe pyeroghee (beeghos, s-habo-vy s kapoostom, oghoorkhova, rosoow, joorekh, flakhy).

I'd like some Polish snacks or sweets.
(obwarzanek, Saltzstangen, polish chocolate, krówki – Polish fudge, Michałki – chocolate and nut candies)
Poproshe obvajanka (suonɛ palooshky, sɛrneek krooleffsky, polskom tschekoladɛ, kroofky, me-how-key).

I'd like a Polish drink. (vodka, vodka, vodka, mead)
Poproshe voodke (kroopneek, joobroovke, myoot peetny).

Steempolish

Of course, in Polish, we talk about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology and here many terms are similar because they come from English. But also Polish Steemians have some steem slang.

About Steem:
Naylepsha plat-for-mah crypto!

About Steemfest:
Nay-vyɛn-kshɛ spot-kan-yɛ y kon-fɛ-rɛn-cya crypto f tym rokooh. Loodjɛ s cauegho shviata f Crackoffiɛ.

Hi! Hello! - to somebody from steem.chat/polish
Bonjour! (also in the middle of the night) - it's in French of course. Don't ask why. Just is.

You'll put it on Steem? Ben-dje toh nah Steemye?

Afterparties

And now a few phrases for use in informal situations. For ease with the division into those associated with positive feelings and those that will be good when you do not want to talk to someone or you're just tired.
Let's have some fun. In this part, I will not translate all phrases (moreover, some are idioms), but they are all perfect for a given situation. ;)

When you're having a great time:
Yest soopɛr!
Alɛ tschad!

Amazing food and drinks:
Toh yest pshe-pysh-neh!
Na-prav-dɛ toh loobyɛ!

Fantastic people:
Soopɛr yest vas spot-kach!
Yes-tesh-tsche nye-sa-moh-vee-tschee!
Ko-ham vas!

For men:
Bar-dzoh pyenknɛ ko-byɛ-tyh mojnah too spot-kach.
For women:
Bar-dzoh pshee-stoy-knee fa-tze-chi too som.

Krak3.jpg

When you've had enough:
Knee mom money.
Doh-bra, vy-star-tschy.
Yush vyen-tzey nye pee-yeah.

When someone bores you:
Bard-zo chiɛkavɛ. Mash tegho vyentzey?
Poghaday trokhe s in-knee-me vye-lo-ribbah-me.

Tired?
Pah-dam s noogh. Doh you-trah!

Krak4.jpg

Some special frases (You must remember exactly these words) ;)

If you are a woman and need some help with luggage, just say loud: Vee-djau ktosh Yatz-kah?
If you need some magic, shout: Gandalf pomoosh!
If you feel Wise: Khtze gadatsch z Noisym!

If you are a very serious person, then these conversations are not likely to be in your style. Then remember only Me-how-key - these candies are really delicious. :)
Have a fantastic time at Steemfest3 in Kraków!

Special greetings for @gtg, @noisy and @jacekw ! You'll meet them in Kraków!

EDIT:
One suggestion from Gandalf (@gtg)!

In southern Poland (where our witness comes from), is often used as a greeting polish equivalent of God bless!, Grüß Gott! (Austria!) which is SZCZĘŚĆ BOŻE!
Yes, I know - there's a lot of typically Polish sounds. Let's do it!

SH-TSCH-ENSH-TSCH BOH-JƐ!

It was simplified pronunciation. ;) If you want to shock Gandalf, you need IPA. 😉
ʃ-ʧ̑-ɛ̃-ɕ-ʨ̑ b-ɔ-ʒ-ɛ

PCC — kopia.jpgHere you can download POLISH-CRASH-COURSE in PDF or JPG and use a printout or graphic file if you'll forgot some words.

@bowess, go and place your daily vote for Steem on netcoins! http://contest.gonetcoins.com/

And that's what's called intelligent humour. Great job @bowess!

You know - something for ladies and gentlemen. Just like Steemians are. No swearing, no dirty words. :)

Mistrzostwo!! Ciężko się czytało tę fonetykę, ale się pośmiałem 😂

Posted using Partiko Android

Cieszę się, że i #polish ma zabawę z czytaniem. :D

Excellent job @bowess I think we will all laugh out laud when people will actually use this course at Steemfest :DD

We'll see. Some are quite easy and very steemy. ;)

PL:
@bowess Jesteś najzdolniejszą bołez jaką znam! Wyszło ci z tego arcydzieło sztuki nowoczesnej :D

EN:
You are the bowesser @bowess I know. You made a masterpiece of modern art :D

PL: Miło mi, choć "arcydzieło" to na pewno za duże słowo. Które zdanie uważasz za naprzydatniejsze na Steemfest?

EN: Thank you! You're so nice, although the "masterpiece" is certainly too big word. Which sentence do you find the most useful at Steemfest?

Oczywiście wybór pada na:

Vee-djau ktosh shlee-tshnɛgoh Yatz-kah?

💛

One more sentence. For girls only!
Yah-tzek Voo yɛst shlee-tsh-nyh!

Doskonale! Mam nadzieję, że rozmówki posko-angielsko-steemowe zrobia furorę!

Dzięki! Może coś się przyjmie. :)

Vodka vodka vodka mead. lol! Thanks for making this!!!

Local specificity. If you want to buy vodka, probably the seller will ask the question "What kind of vodka?" or "Which one?" :)

haha good to know!

or maybe pivo = beer :)
or ziouo = weed (illegal and be carreful)
:)
