I think we visited the largest city in Nebraska on a weekend, it was a ghost town in the middle of the day everything was closed and not a single person anywhere! It was a sci-fi movie experience!
Those were some great choices for a state that is a little bit harder! Brewer-Shipley was new to me, very interesting and catchy though. They even had Jerry Garcia playing a backup instrument, very cool!
It's hard to go wrong with Bob Seger, and that's a great song! Lady Gaga is an amazing artist and singer that many don't take very seriously, but they should. That was a really good song! She has a lot of talent and a great voice, although her videos are always really bizarre. Then again she considers herself an artist and artists like to be creative, and it's her music so she can do what she wants! lol
Nebraska can be pretty in summer with all of the cornfields, but I sure wouldn't want to be there in winter! And to be honest, I'm not sure I would drive through again. I would rather do the flyover method in the future! Great job on today's TTT!
Yeah, Winter is just amazing to me. I mean you don't think it is that far north so you figure they don't get that much snow, but then you see the gates they have to shut the highway down during a blizzard and you start to realize just how bad it can get!
That's two times in two weeks you posted about my homes😁. The first was about John Ball Zoo and now Nebraska. I grew up in Grand Rapids and now live in Nebraska. Nebraska definitely has some things to make it stand out and a bit better than flyover country. If you get a chance, take one of the scenic routes through the sandhills. The Niobrara River is a top 10 river destination for rafting and kayaking as well. When you come back through Omaha(if you do), stop at Lewis and Clark Monument in Council Bluffs, just across the river to get the best view of Omaha and doing so at sunset will be the best case scenario.
We came across on 80 when we made the drive. We had stopped in the quad cities the night before and then drove from there to North Platte the next day. I found it very pretty countryside when we came through in early July. I was hoping to make it up to the Lake McConaughy area, but we had to get to Denver early the next morning to meet our relatives that were flying in.
I've never seen Lake McConaughy yet myself, but have made the same drive you are making so many times. Lewis and Clark Monument is only a few mile drive from I-80, overlooking the Missouri River Valley and downtown Omaha.

Wow, that does sound crazy!
Sounds like a horror movie....
I can't survive in such a place.
Depression is a thing!

I'm pretty sure it was raining when we came through Omaha, but maybe next time we will have to make a detour and check it out!
