The Two Edged Sword Of Conspiracy Theories

Conspiracy Theories

Hello #qccommunity friends. Happy Sunday. I welcome you to my blog. I used to hear about this conspiracy theory. How the government was always working against the citizens, until I launched my career. When I grew into a managerial position and became part of the management team.

I started hearing about conspiracy theories again, most of which suggest that the management team always wants to enslave the staff with meagre salaries. Suggesting they want them to remain poor individuals and trap them with the monthly salary.

Delving into the conspiracy theory narratives. It is a two-edged sword. While the citizens believe in such theories, the government, on the other hand, keeps denying and striving to wriggle its way out of the allegations.

First, such theories seem to thrive where poverty, corruption, and unemployment are the order of the day. Again, it thrives where those in the political corridors of power do little or nothing to provide necessary support to the citizens in times of insecurity and in the face of health challenges.

For example, there have been these alleged conspiracy theories of the government using insecurity to oppress the opposition parties in my country of origin. The citizens believe the purpose is to help them sail through the next election unopposed.

Furthermore, there is a general belief that the government is weaponizing poverty to suppress the citizens, such that they will not be able to rise unitedly to fight for their rights. Before now, when there is a major power failure or serious security breach, citizens would rise in peaceful protest to demand justice and immediate attention to the challenges. Today, it is believed that the government has caused a lot of harm by dividing and using citizens against each other to perpetrate vices and embezzle tax funds.

However, while this may sound true, major analysis and data representation tend to provide other narratives rather than a conspiracy theory. Most often, available data suggest that the government is in a real struggle to contain such issues and provide support due to scarce resources, global meltdown, inflation, and economic challenges.

The conflicting analysis is that the government will be more vibrant and productive in a stable environment where citizens co-exist peacefully, rather than in a chaotic environment. To me, the alleged benefits of gaining goodwill, control, more power, and polite suppression by the government are not backed by evidence. Because by mere analysis, the government will only spend and lose resources in the face of these alleged conspiracy theories, rather than make ends meet.
