It's a special day of the year for many and I think it's only fitting for me to make a post in celebration. I'll not be rolling up a fat one myself but I'll blaze through a delicious sandwich to mark the occasion.
For anyone that has no clue what I'm going on about, today is internationally known as the day for celebrating cannabis smoking.

If you follow along with my posts you'll know that I'm not one to shy away from expressing parts of my life that have been problematic in the past. My relationship with cannabis falls neatly into the problem category, oh yes.
I'd first dabbled with Mary Jane at the tender age of 13 (sounds like a potential crime investigation) when my friend and I smoked what is best known as cannabis resin. It was always a weekend thing, to begin with, and lots of fun in those early years, although looking back it wasn't one of my finer decisions.
For around ten years after that first encounter, I had consistently smoked cannabis and went through varying stages with it.
In the earlier stages, I would smoke most days with friends and occasionally on my own, and towards the later years, I was smoking it more frequently on my own which gave way to intense paranoia and withdrawal from others.
These were times when I was living alone, away from where I grew up. It wasn't the most enjoyable chapter of my life even though I was advancing well in the building trade and entering adulthood.

In the latest stages of smoking, I experienced much more intense effects. After having multiple unpleasant psychedelic trips (stories for a later date, need a full post for that shit), from varying substances, and continuing to smoke on occasion, my highs from cannabis were altered completely.
One puff of a joint and for weeks I would be in a state of what can only be described as disturbing schizophrenia, an unsettling psychosis of sorts. I believe that the experiences I had with psychedelics have somewhat imprinted on my memory and whenever I smoke now, I am brought back in some way.
I'm sure there is research out there as to why this is, although I'm not too concerned. I just cut it out altogether and so far I've gone around 10 months since last smoking.

Much like any recreational substance, there are differing effects for each person and your environment, mental makeup, and past experiences all contribute to this.
I just spoke yesterday about gaming and the effects that it can have if not done in moderation with some awareness for your own responsibilities being taken into account.
Learn about how your body and mind respond to things and make the necessary changes if needed. Experience is sometimes the only way to figure it out (I'm not recommending people start shooting up to see if smack is going to be a healthy habit, use your brain).

I'd like to find out about other people's experiences with cannabis in the comments, good or bad. There are many common grounds which past, present, and future smokers can discuss and learn from.
If you're celebrating 420 today, have a good one and enjoy the time with your pals if you're able to see them. Peace.

I know, we need an update and further discussions.
Don't forget to write your post for this week's POB Word of the Week!
There is 350 POB (liquid) up for grabs. That's about 420 HIVE at today's current price.
The Gods have spoken.

I won for 1 year 😁 ... but unlike you I have not stopped for 30 years and I'm still (just now 😅)
Happy 4:20!!!! 💨💨💨
Beat me on the playtime score card lol. If it works for you that's awesome, I'll never say never for myself either. Maybe when I'm older and retired from life I'll have fewer worries and I'll be able to blaze one up on the regular.
Enjoy your day fella.
Yeah it's not for everyone despite the seemingly never-ending list of benefits that get fed into the news cycle every day. It's feeling like when the tobacco industry were using doctors to promote the benefits of smoking
On one hand I don't agree with criminal punishment for smoking/possession but on the other, this isn't exactly Vitamin C or Vitamin D.
I'm with you there. I know at least in my country that mental health services are a shambles and they're much needed for people who struggle with various addictions etc (talking from personal experience of course).
Mental health seems to be a taboo topic in many countries. It's a shame that mental health treatment isn't offered at the start as it would probably prevent worse problems from happening down the road.
It's all a big joke to those who run things. You best believe they have a private therapist who will listen to them moan on about their wives shagging around on them, but when it comes to the little guy needing genuine support, they don't give a flying fuck.
With Cannabis I have not had experience ... When I was in high school, new and oblivious to all that, they offered me to try it in a hallway ... I was reading, I looked up and I refused. This type of substance has not really been striking to me. However, the common tobacco cigarette is one of my weaknesses ... I love the smell ... But, I usually smoke when I am very sad. I like to do it at night, while I'm alone. I also love the premium menthol type cigarettes ... They are a sporadic taste.🤗
I was a smoker for years myself, always loved the act of smoking. Over time it just became a filthy habit for me and I have recently quit (about 3 months). The fresh feeling and no smokey smell is amazing.
Well, after all these years...the feeling of freshness without smoke can be liberating.*
In my case it is the opposite, I have restricted smoking...therefore, that when I do it (a few times a year), it is calming... I was delighted and I savored the smoke...✨
I can dig that, I like your style!
Dude we have more in common than you realise, I will make my daily topic about this one.
420 in the house! I feel like this would be the day to buy Weed token lol
It has likely been a decade for me since I partook. #sober-life
I have not smoked cannabis before but I have a friend that does that and I do see some kind of happiness written on his face whenever he smokes it...I like the fact that he does it with moderation...
There are definitely benefits to it for those who are responsible. I'd probably say that it's wise to smoke when you are an adult though, there is information floating about that says it's damaging before adulthood is fully developed (no idea how well these 'facts' hold up though).
well I haven't smokes @calumam but I know about psychedelics and how it used to be practiced with individuals at the early 60's until banned.
they use some kind of secret mushrooms that causes strong hallucinations for spiritual journeys as they claim its usage.
but here's the thing. since it's on FarCry game then it's bad thing to get addicted on. I've always concluded to what ever is being promoted vastly to is devastating to human beings. that's it budds no more complications.
life is simple thus, our minds keeps make shit worsen and magnifies problems for no Fu**ng reason.
happy 420's day !
I'm not one to try and change your mind, I'll just say that it's not automatically bad if it's on a video game. There are some very positive use cases for some psychedelic drugs, it's all about learning how they can be used safely and responsibly. All of my experiences (even though some of them were literal waking nightmares), have bettered me as a person in some way and showed parts of me that I have been able to change or improve.
I personally believe that smoking of cannabis is not bad,it is the addiction to the smoking of cannabis that is the problem that should be avoided...
