Today I want to share with you a channel I recently discovered that lovers of mystery, horror, and all things paranormal will surely adore. From a very young age, this type of content has captivated me: I watched horror movies (but never alone because, ironically, I was a terrible scaredy-cat), I read horror books and comics, and I loved a very famous radio program here in Venezuela from many years ago called "Our Unusual Universe," which featured paranormal or very strange topics. Well, finding this channel was like rediscovering that radio program, since they have videos that specifically discuss Venezuelan myths and legends—in fact, the name suggests as much—although they aren't always paranormal or horror-related. Sometimes they also talk about Venezuelan saints, like Dr. José Gregorio Hernández, to whom they dedicated a video, for example.
Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un canal que descubrí recientemente y que a los amantes del misterio, horror y todo el tema paranormal, seguramente lo amarán. Desde muy pequeña a mi ha llamado la atención este tipo de contenido: veía películas de terror (pero jamás sola porque irónicamente era muy miedosa) leía libros o comics de terror y me encantaba un programa de radio muy famoso aquí en Venezuela de hace muchos años que se llamaba "Nuestro Insólito Universo" que presentaban temas paranormales o muy extraños. Bueno, el caso es que encontrar este canal fue como reencontrarme con ese programa de radio, ya que tienen videos que hablan específicamente de mitos y leyendas de Venezuela, de hecho su nombre lo indica, aunque no siempre son de corte paranormal o de horror, a veces también habla de santos venezolanos como el Doctor José Gregorio Hernández a quién le dedicó un video, por ejemplo.
His videos contain a lot of artificial intelligence; I even think the voice is AI-generated, yet it doesn't sound robotic, and the visuals actually enhance the atmosphere of the stories, so they don't feel out of place. Most of the videos are quite long, ranging from fifteen minutes to over an hour, but that's because most of them are compilations of several stories or accounts. Furthermore, going back to the topic of artificial intelligence, the channel doesn't only use this resource; I've recently seen videos that include audio from subscribers or other people recounting their own paranormal experiences.
Sus videos contienen mucha inteligencia artificial, incluso la voz creo que es generada por IA, sin embargo no se siente robótica, y las imágenes en realidad ayudan mucho con la ambientación de las historias, por eso no se sienten fuera de lugar. La mayoría de los videos son muy largos, duran desde quince minutos hasta una hora y pico, pero es porque la mayoría de ellos son una recopilación de varias historias o relatos. Pero además, volviendo al tema de la inteligencia artificial, el canal no solo usa este recurso, he visto videos últimamente donde incluye audios de suscriptores u tras personas contando sus propias experiencias paranormales.
The channel's aesthetic perfectly matches the concept, providing eerie images that give you goosebumps and make your hair stand on end, and I think this is a very good visual hook. If you like the horror genre and you see a face like the one I'm showing below (which is the one from the channel's welcome panel), you'd obviously enter the channel to see what you find.
La estética del canal va en perfecta cohesión con el concepto, aportando imágenes tétricas que ponen la piel de gallina y los pelos de punta, y yo creo que esto es un muy buen gancho visual, si te gusta el genero de terror y ves una cara como la que estoy mostrando abajo (que es la del panel de bienvenida al canal) obviamente que entrarías al canal para ver que encuentras.
Every time I discover something, it catches my attention. For example, I once came across a video where they were telling paranormal stories and chilling anecdotes from the soldiers who live and work inside Fort Paramacay, or the Military Circle, as it's also called. This is an army barracks right here in my city, so obviously this caught my attention, and of course, I also felt compassion for those poor people who sometimes have to fulfill their duty against their will, working in cemeteries, morgues, or well, in any place that seems haunted. Oh, and something that caught my attention at the beginning of that video about haunted barracks in the country is that the moderator says a chilling phrase at the beginning: "If an officer gives you an order in the middle of the night, make sure he has a shadow." 😨
Cada vez descubro algo me llama la atención, por ejemplo en una ocasión descubrí un video en el que estaban contando relatos paranormales y anécdotas de escalofríos de los soldados que viven y trabajan dentro del fuerte Paramacay, o Cirulo Militar, como también lo llaman, este es un cuartel del ejercito que está aquí mismo en mi ciudad, así que obviamente esto llamó mi atención y también desde luego, sentí compasión por esas pobres personas que a veces tienen que cumplir con su deber muy a sus pesar, trabajando en cementerios, morgues o bueno, en cualquier sitio que de por si parezca embrujado. Ahh y algo que me llamó la atención al inicio de ese video sobre cuarteles embrujados del pais es que el moderador al inicio dice una oración certera que pone los pelos de punta "Si un oficial te da una orden en plena madrugada, asegúrate de que tenga sombra" 😨

First of all, I have to say that the ending of your review really blew me away. making sure the officer giving an order is in the shade? That’s chilling, because if he isn’t, he’s not alive! But what an interesting channel. I used to be the same way: even though I loved a good mystery, I never watched those programmes on my own as a child, they scared me so much I couldn’t sleep afterwards.
Given what you mentioned about the use of AI in the videos, I thought it was worth noting that some of the latest videos feature real audio of people telling stories; it makes the channel feel more authentic and is likely to appeal more to people. And yes, it must be really scary, knowing that the stories... are from your own country! Excellent review; I always appreciate it when you share your own experiences and anecdotes. Sí, es que esa parte del video fue la que más me impactó, jaja, y yo no había tomado en cuenta eso, nunca me voy fijando si la gente tiene sombra o no jajajaja
Ajá, así tal cual era yo también, no veía nada de terror estando sola porque después me costaba mucho dormir, y eso que dormía con mis hermanas. En una ocasión recuerdo que una de mis hermanas y yo estábamos viendo una película sobre vampiros, en algún punto nos asustamos y salimos corriendo a la habitación dejando el televisor prendido porque no nos atrevíamos a ir a apagarlo. Al día siguiente nos regañaron a las dos.
😆 eso es divertido ahora que pasaron los años, pero en ese momento debió ser aterrador, me pasaba lo mismo😆 que la tele la apague otro!
