So a couple of days ago @ablaze made a Coolio themed post for his three tune tuesday.
This inspired me to try and cover "Gangstas Paradise".
Ive recently been playing with my guitar tuned down to a D standard tune.
For this song Im using the chord shapes F, D minor, E and Am. I think this progression in the D tuing really suits this song .It sounds kind dark and haunting.
I might end up using this progression to write something for Halloween if I can find the inspiration to do so.

This is a great interpretation brother. A classic from the 90s of course to go along with it in the song. Well it was for a long time one of those that I would not stop listening to, Thanks for bringing us this song that I'm sure many will remember. Regarding the chord sequence it certainly makes the song darker. I don't think it's wrong what you've done, I think it's great that you've experimented.

True story - I once wrote a parody of this song called "Santa's Paradise" - and now that's the only version I can seem to remember! Maybe just before Christmas I can give that a go! Hahaha
Hahaha wow ,Im glad you liked it :D. I never expected to try this one this week, @ablaze recent TTT post had me wondering about the chord progression used for it. I have been trying out alot of older songs with the D tuned guitar and I was curious how this would sound. When I found the F,Dm,E,Am progression I loved the haunting sound so I just went for it. I knew most of the lyrics so it didn't take to long to pick it up.
Please do record Santa's paradise this Christmas season , I am very eager to hear that. Have you got any Halloween themed songs for the spooky season?
