Hello Hive learners.
I'll be sharing the good and bad chatting has done to me.
Here it is;

I'm not someone who chats a lot. I chat when am not in a position to do any other thing that pleases me but most importantly, I chat when I have any important message to convey or recieve.
That notwithstanding, chatting has done me good just as it has done me harm. Let me share them with you.

• Improved communication/texting skill

I prefer texting to calling because I am a bit more expressive that way(to me). Chatting instead of texting helps me put together my words better. That way, I think before I type and send. I know how best to address people and issues. I've gained friends from my time spent chatting. Texting in general has opened me up to gaining knowledge and insight. I try to read and check up new words, texting provides me the avenue to practice using those words.
On the flip side, because I get tired of chatting quickly, I could easily exit the platform without stress.

• Addiction

Chatting/social media is so much fun that it is easy to get hooked. Sometimes, I go online to check a thing or two and a message notification pops up. Then, from saying hello, I get carried away and so engrossed that I do not remember or even want to do anything else and before I'll realize myself, I've spent hours messaging. I've probably forfeited doing something tangible.
A few times, I set timers for the time duration within which I should stay chatting (particularly when I have things that need to be done) but we all know how interesting and addicting social media can be on those days, and then I'll defer to putting the task(s) off for a later time. You can only imagine how miserable and also angry I'll be at myself for wasting precious time and being unproductive. Therefore, I try to practice moderation.

Phone addiction is really bad thing. It takes away time even without giving you any benefits.

Nice writing tho

Chatting can be so addictive, I am not an exception either but like you said, moderation needs to be applied. It has also helped my grammar cos I had to cross check and learn in the process before sending

Moderation helps a lot. That way, the good outweighs the bad.

I also prefer chatting rather than calling, it helps me to think carefully about what I want to say before typing it out but trying to do that while talking to someone on the phone will make the conversation slow 😆

Exactly! In calling, one can easily say the wrong thing. I prefer chatting anyday.

90 percent of people are already addicted to chatting, it is part of our daily routine, once we wake up the first thing we take is our phone which shows how addicted we are!

I also don't feel very comfortable with phone calls, especially with people I'm not that close to.
So I'd always go for chatting. And just like you said, it really does help improve my writing skills.
Thanks for sharing!

I love your title to this article, I also love chatting but let's not get too addicted to it because we have so many things that needs to be done.

Me I'm still struggling with breaking free from it. It's actually not easy to stop chatting o. Thanks for this
