Not sure if I totally agree with here as there are a number of factors for these behaviors such as language barriers. I engage in comments very often as I want to ensure content creators know that I invested time to consume the content and engage. It doesn’t always lead to an upvote for me as some are often well compensated already although I try to spread my upvote as much as I can.

The people on the top make a lot of money and I understand that is cool to spread around and encourage people to keep going to produce content.
I share your thought on this one, I have come across a few and it just reflects how we are as an individual, we are complaining about the greedy and shellfish world out there but we bring the same attitude to a place where we seek decentralization.
At the end of the making the world a better place begins with each and every one of us.

This is true we are the reflection of what we are already, centralization or decentralization will not change this important element.
I was worried I was gonna be one this list! lol (the single comment guy) You forgot one, the person that says "enjoy the upvote", but they don't actually upvote!! Hate that!!
This behavior is pathetic when you really think about it.
