β™₯οΈπŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ’œKnot Another Knitting Tutorial - Chapter 19 - The Last Stretch Always Seems The Longest!β™₯οΈπŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ’œ

Isn't it strange how the last segment of any journey, whether it's a marathon, a project or any labor of love, can seem to stretch on a lot longer than the rest?

This one felt exciting but slow to start, really fast in the middle and then it was like time stood still at the end as I struggled with ball of wool that had essentially collapsed and kept falling apart.

Eventually, it was so tangled it was impossible to kit with or untangle, so I had to untangle what I could, cut off the rest and then repeat, tying all the ends together ad rolling the whole lot back into a neat ball.

Looking back at it, I always thought, "today will be the day I finish it!" and then it would end up being one of those days where I barely managed to finish a row.

It was Lexi's fault, I swear!

Still, my knitting accompanies me everywhere!! It's just so much healthier, think than endlessly scrolling through social media, which just gives me the heebie-jeebies.

So, this project has brought me great joy. I have found the colours so vibrant and yet calming. Like my happy place, but in rainbow-like my little pony colours!

Last night I finally finished it, and despite a dropped stitch here and there (and me somehow knitting the middle of the scarf into the last few rows - that was fun to fix πŸ™„πŸ™„) I think it's my best Oogieliboo yet!

We now each have our own unique Oogieliboo, which makes me so happy. What a great feeling of accomplishment!

However, I've definitely caught the knitting bug and I don't know what to do with my hands now, so I guess its back to the wool shop for my next project!

Woven with a lot of selflove and perseverance. Nice one and very useful

absolutely. how beautifully said! I want to try a throw or a blanket next, but do I have the patience? I'm not sure, but I know my fingers are itching for the next project!

If you put your mind to it, I believe you can do it. Remember it is a gradual thing you don't have to finish in a day or two you can always take your time

exactly and as @riverflows says, its about the process, not the end result, although it can be difficult to lose sight of it.

I can't agree less.

!Luv

😍😍

I love the colour
Nice post

Thank you so much! Reminds me of fairies and rainbows <3 Glad you like it!

This is really amazing, beautiful and useful

Thank you! It's been draped around my shoulders since I finished it! I love it!

Wow, nice and beautiful skill, well-done

Thank you so much! I did lose a few stitches here and there, but mostly, it's my best one yet :)

Great post and I can imagine that the colors can take you into a sweet cocooning feeling. I’m ready to get my needles ready, the season is starting. So thank you for the inspiration ❀️

that's so true. there is something so comforting about getting wrapped up in a project of love. I want to try something different next like a throw for the couch. But do have the patience to knit something that big? We'll see!

Ah I feel ya... I'm loving it too. That colour looks delightful to knit. I'm a quarter through a throw which is fun! It seems endless though... I'm trying not to get too wrapped up in the end result and enjoy the process but it bugs me if I don't do eight rows a day, which is the full pattern.

.

yeah a throw would be lovely since my kids have demolished my couch. It's been fixed so many times now it's more like Frankenstein's couch πŸ˜‚ but, it was a Corricraft couch and i don't want to let it go. I've had it for years and the frame is still solid. I don't have the heart, or the wallet, to chuck it out and just replace it. Sigh. Especially when I know the kids will just destroy the next one πŸ™„

Oh goodness I would have been KILLED my my parents for disrespecting the couch! One day they'll leave home and you can get a lovely new one. .

We have my mom's one in storage but I refuse to take it out. I'm just going to knit and enormous throw to stick over what's left of this one!
