I watched the video through I agree with most of your points and have been grappling with the same issues. What i've deduced is that real organic traffic isn't here yet for the most part it's like we're still in the alpha and the people here are all here for the money i expect in a few years it'll become more mainstream and then it might become less money orientated especially when there's far less money to be made and you can't just make a career out of it if you didn't invest years earlier.
I think followers are the big thing we need early on genuine followers who want to watch/read the content you create and even that right now is abit meh. For instance i'd like to put alerts on certain people so not only will they go to my feed if they post but i'd like a notification. I would probably even enjoy a relationship score with each individual user so that the more we interact and upvote each other it sorta builds this visual relationship so you can see who your best followers are and there's another non monetary aspect of reward for partaking in conversation.
With regards to the upvote bots, the resteemers, votesellers/buyers and all the other little gimmicks to grow i'm incline to agree without followers it's geniunely hard to grow and i'm not sure there are any true shortcuts. I think you need to find external communities on discord that do what you like and make geniune friends outside of discord if you really want to get ahead faster. Otherwise slow and steady is all their is unless you're prepared to pay heaps as steem is literally just marketing power. In 5 years all the marketing companies will just be those sell delegation or massive upvotes at premium prices. If you really want something to get seen and give you followers it's like you'd need to buy a $1000 upvote which might cost you just as much if not more but then it'll actually get seen and generate you followers and upvoters.
I would say just based on this video, i'm not going to fluff it for you or try to win your upvote lol it was abit long, and dull. If i wasn't right in your shoes listening to hear what you had to say because i'm facing the same issue then i would have closed the video as it needed to be more concise and more enthusiastically delivered. Some key notes might help so you don't get lost during a video.

Keep at it man, it'll be worth it in a few years.

thanks for the feed-back, really appreciate it. I'm so glad you gave me an honest opinion - "it was a bit long, and dull..." etc. I need the honesty because I'm not a content creator and I've just started making videos and I don't really know how to do it. When people give me feed back like this it really helps me out a lot. So thanks! :) Also please check out my hearthstone videos and tell me what you think - be brutal :P

lol be brutal, lets do it i will continue to give feedback lol

Hey, alot of what you're saying here resonates with me. Being someone who makes gaming content as well I feel your pain. It's very hard to get genuine follows and an audience. I've had a few lucky moments but nothing consistent. I figure if I keep making content and improve it each time along the way I'll eventually get there and while I'm at it try and get involved in communities and circles of like minded people that might be able to support one another. Keep at it though!

Thanks! Yeah I guess the trick is keep at it :)

Dude! Keep making videos and you will be seen! Gaming community here is super fresh. I came early december and could not find one Heartstone video that wasn't over two months old! Also you should know that you can use five tags and first tag is going to be your main category, so use mainly gaming tag as first.

I didn't know that about the tags so thank you. I will keep posting and trying :)

I upvotes this comment because it is very deep and profound...probably the best comment ever written on the blockchain
