Due to a critical security vulnerability, I had to update my Witness node to a new Linux kernel. The node does not run in a Docker container; however, "Docker nodes" are not secure in this context either. Therefore, I advise every Witness to update their server to the latest Linux kernel.

Der Node läuft nicht in einem Docker-Container; allerdings sind auch „Docker-Nodes“ in diesem Kontext nicht sicher. Hi @condeas, ich habe vor mir einen neuen Linux Server aufzusetzen, um ein waning mit Docker Containern zu experimentieren. Welche Linux Distribution würdest du empfehlen?

Wenn es nur um einen Server geht, dann kann ich alle, bis auf Rollingreleases (wie Arch Linux z.B.), empfehlen. Ist halt Geschmacksache und Du kannst ja erstmal in einer VM auf Windows, einige Distros durchprobieren.
Da ich seit 2009 hauptsächlich Debian nutze, komme ich mit Debian und Ubuntu am Besten klar.
Wenn Du sowieso mit Docker und eventuell Linux-Containern experimentieren willst, dann kannst Du dir für 5 Euro bei Contabo einen server mieten und Proxmos darauf ausführen. Das vereinfacht es erheblich.
