Splinterlands - SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge - Theme: Kobold Miner

Hello Friends,

The monster which got featured in this week's SHARE YOUR BATTLE challenge reminded my early days on Splinterlands.
Yes, It was few packs I brought and I had almost all the monsters at level one and Fire Splinter was my favorite then since it use to give that +1 melee attack for usage of Malric Inferno summoner.

Kobold Miner is the monster with just 2 MANA cost but gives us 3 sneak melee attack and I always use this tiny monster whenever I use Fire Splinter.

The details of melee attack, speed and health for this monster can be seen in above screenshot.
Although it starts with just 1 melee attack, it's not bad for a monster with just 2 MANA cost!!! and not to forget it can have 1 more added to that from Fire Splinter summoner of Malric Inferno.

Speed also starts low with 2 being the starting speed, but as we level this up, it can go up to 5.

And the stats for Health are also almost similar to the speed, but again, not bad for a 2 MANA monster, isn't it?

Lineup:

Every battle is special with different rulesets and the monsters we use.
For this battle, I got a MANA cap of 28 and there was a single rule set i.e. Melee Mayhem, which is perfectly suited for the featured monster Kobold Miner.

So, the lineup I used for this battle was a s below:

1. Living Lava:

image.png

Although a bit low on speed side, this monster is best suited for the rule set as it's armors and shield ability augurs well for this to stay a bit longer in the battle and it's 4 melee attack is good enough for the front position.

2. Serpentine Soldier:

image.png

Another monster with shield and armors and also with dodge ability which helps it to evade the attack.
This also gives 3 melee attack with speed of 5.

3. Cerberus:

image.png

This self healing monster is with 4 speed and 4 melee attack and has the ability of Retaliate to have a chance to hit back melee monsters.

4. Exploding Dwarf:

image.png

The main monster used in Melee Mayhem* and Super Sneak battles.
It gives 6 + 3 Blast attack and also can Retaliate and among the first to attack in this lineup because of it's speed of 6.

5. Kobold Miner:

image.png

The theme monster for this week, one of the tiniest in terms of MANA cost with 2, but gives 3 sneak attack.

6. Halfling Alchemist:

######I was looking to fill the remaining 2 MANA cost and got this to my mind. And this monster didn't disappoint as it reduced the attack for each monster it attacked thru halving ability.

Before we move onto the details of the battle, I feel it's good we have a look at opponent's lineup as well.

The lineup opponent used included Life Splinter monsters Lord Arianthus, War Chaang, Silvershield Knight, Baby Unicorn, Crystal Werewolf and Creeping Ooze.

Battle:

Clearly, the attack is imbalanced here in this battle with my attack of 21 vs opponent's 13 with him using Lord A at the front.

Round 1:

This being a melee mayhem battle, both front monsters were the center of attack and both survived round 1 with Creeping Ooze being the other monster attacked by sneak of Kobold Miner.

image.png

Round 2:

Round 2 was more destructive with opponent's 3 monsters losing out in Lord A, War Chaang and Creeping Ooze while the front monster from my side, Living Lava also lost out.

The task for opponent was cut out as Serpentine Soldier was up at front now, which is another dodge, armored and even with shield ability.

image.png

Round 3:

The remaining monsters were not much once Silvershield Knight lost in this round as that reduced the melee attack by one since inspire ability gone out with that monster I mentioned.

image.png

Round 4:

The last standing monster on opponent's side Crystal Werewolf just bowed out with one hit from Exploding Dwarf and signaled end of battle although I felt it was like one sided battle with Lord A not attacking and without thorns.

Question Answers time as usual!!!!

Did my strategy work? What will I try differently next time?

Frankly speaking, no regrets with the lineup I used for this battle.
So, no changes in the one I used.

Do I use the KOBOLD MINER often? Why or why not?

100%, It's one of the mos used Fire Splinter monsters simply because of it's lesser cost and more attack besides being a sneak monster.

Good day to you all :)

Happy to delegate some Hive Power for the wonderful work this account is doing thru all the curators :)

That was quick off the mark!

Probably my least favourite rule set!

@tipu curate

Upvoted 👌 (Mana: 14/21)

Yeah, a quick one.

On a contrary, I like the Melee Mayhem and Super Sneak rule sets, although Equalizer is my favorite :)

Good day my friend :)

Thanks for tipu curation

it is good line up, but if you use Halfling Alchemist: at third place i think it will be best then other heavy attacker can get chance more strong in attack, may be i am not correct, just my opinion but nice lineup, you got victory it is proof your line was correct

Well, this was a battle with Melee Mayhem ruleset on, which means all the monsters will be targeting the front monster and that prompted me to put Halfling Alchemist as last monster to cover the remaining 2 MANA.

It doesn't always work, but, happy that it worked well with this battle :)

Thanks for stopping by my friend, Good Night :)

Yeah man!! Cool sharing!!
Kobold isn't bad at all!!😀🔥🙌

Kobold is definitely the monster you will get to your mind when you have just 2 MANA to cover because of it's value for money it provides with melee attack.

Good day buddy :)

Nice battle, brother.

You're right about Kobold Miner.
This is a fantastic monster for fire splinter with low mana which makes users use it the most.
