  thank you - but I still don't understand ... $1 = $1, even if I bought $100 of anything, it would still be worth $100 in my wallet. That's what I'm talking about... I would just have less Steem

  Did you get Coinbase to work for you? I just did a transfer from ETH to my Steem account and the conversion to equivalent Steem in USD isn't even close... I must be doing something wrong.
