This prediction, if that happens, almost every steemien becomes rich. I hope Steem gets to a 100 at least. But $2,000.00 in 2019 and $20,000.00 by 2022? That’s called an optimism. Let’s hope it’s right.

I just heard that acccording to Weiss, the big move up that we have been seeing in Steem and other cryptocurencies is primarily driven by big-foot institutional investors tiptoeing into crypto. Institutional investors are mostly long therm investors and usually they invest when they think it’s cheap anough. I definitely thought steem at $1.70 and bitcoin below 7k was cheap. That was the reason I bought some cryptos at that time. I’m sure that these kind of bear markets are healthy. It allows the big companies to get in at the best time possible.
That sounds like a very plausible explanation that jives with just about everything we're hearing from just about everywhere there's knowledge regarding the subject. Price action is also technical and subdued, and that's another indication that professionals are active in the markets.

It will be the underlying technology of most industries.
It will take perhaps decades to adopt, but once we get there, blockchain will be everything.
Think about your typical corporate organisation now, it’s just a database, that’s what it boils down to.
The blockchain is a database which is immutable and can be audited.
And it that is the future, then those predictions are very realistic!

Personally I don't believe STEEM will reach $2,000 in the end of the year! But there is a possibility to reach atleast $50 in the end of 2018! Becoz, STEEM total market supply is little bit higher than BitCoin! Yeah the speed of create new blocks make this happens!
Anyway due to high market supply I think STEEM will reach $200 - $1000 price range in end of 2020!
I heard STEEM got a competitor but it's a poor competition! So, the future is great with this currency and with BTS!
I am thinking to invest more on EOS too! Would like to hear your opinion about it!

Out of curiosity, how did you arrive at the proportional pricing for STEEM compared to the estimates these Bitcoiners put out?
If BTC hits $25K by the end of the year, that is basically a triple...wouldnt that make STEEM $9?
I obviously prefer your $200 mark, just not sure where that came from.
As for this year, we really need to see three things from STEEM developers:
A) Automated sign up process
B)Hivemind
C)SMTs
If these three come by the end of August, we might see a radical run in the 4th quarter of the year.
STEEM total supply divided by BTC total supply results in a 12.9 to 1 ratio, meaning that STEEM should be worth 7.76% of BTC, or $1,940.00, all other things being equal.

Hi @taskmaster ! Yes @cryptographic sounds very optimistic, as you and I! The reason he enters those numbers is because of his past posts a couple of months ago when he was comparing the value of steem, bts, cardano and others compared to bitcoin, and how should they be worth if they had the BTC marketcap. That is what I understood!

More basic still: equal value for each outstanding "token" (total supply).
If your product is just as good, or even better, theoretically it should be worth the same, on a ratio adjusted basis. If you have a total supply that is 12.9 times that of what you are comparing with, then your fair value should by 12.9 time less. With BTC currently at $8,700, STEEM should really be worth around $675.00 right now!

Steem with all its bets(specialy SMT and APPICS) coming into fruition is a $250 bet for me . ADA is long way from being a real threat to top 5 in terms of adoption/usage,but without any doubt has the potential . Speculative hype can take ADA to $5 max in my opinion.
RE BTC , its kinda conservative to think the revisit of 20k by 2018 . My calculation (with consideration of LN, ETF) is 40k by 2018 . Institutional custody service may be a reality in 12 months . In that case we will see another massive upside which can eventually rally btc upto next halving (2020). Hence i think Tim Draper will be spot on . MY bet is with Tim .
I agree with you that ADA is the most conservative candidate, that is to say, with the least theoretical appreciation potential, but it's also one that could beat everyone's expectations. I think there's a real possibility that ADA could see mass adoption "overnight" and become a legitimate standard setter.

Although I mostly agree with your posts but this one blew my mind! While I am wildly optimistic on the assets you mention, some of those price targets will imply trillions of dollars in Crypto market cap. If they hold their current market shares, the market cap for the whole market would exceed that of gold whoch is currently around $6 trillion. However, if these prices do happen, I imagine it would be due to the fall of the dollar from inflation and the demand of blockchain technology. That would probably bring gold prices higher too. I would hope this comes true as well!
Imagine crypto becoming 10-15% or world broad money supply. Put in those terms it sounds like a modest assumption. What's a bit more speculative is suggesting that crypto will dwindle to only 10 or so major players. But if those two factors came together, we'd have the trillions you are referring to.

First, charts are slowly showing signs of a bottoming up with up ticks generally on higher volume than down ticks, which is always a good sign.
And then there is this, 2-3 days ago I have read that George Soros is entering crypto world. That was jaw dropping news for me. While I don't like the guy, he is trying to reshape the whole world, he has a history to position himself on the (financial) winning sides. And if he is interested, you can bet some other Billionaires will start taking a note also. Which is funny, if I would be Billionaire and in nineties, I could care less... ;-)
Of the cryptos you mentioned, I would also keep an eye on EOS. Well graphene group in general, BTS, STEEM, EOS.
The total market capitalization excluding Bitcoin has almost doubled off of lows on what looks like an inverse head and shoulder intermediate term trend reversal. That's the entire alt market cap. There's money flow coming into crypto right now.

After reading the articles I convinced myself a little more that it could be possible, this guys know what they are talking about, it's not only faith. $ 250000 is a large number, but bitcoin has grown exponentially since its beginning, certainly as it grows its percentage of growth will tend to decrease.
If humanity continues its modernization, more people learn about blockchain and governments do not try to sabotage, I think those predictions could be made real, but there is still some time left. I am also happy to have entered this world for this moment, maybe in 2022 we'll celebrate it.

You are right, the blockchain technology is revolutionary and universal, the use of the blockchain is only at the very beginning and every year the application of the blockchain will expand and the STEEM will be very much in demand! Your forecast of the STEEM price is very optimistic and it will be great if by the end of the year we see these figures. But analyzing the general trend of the crypto currency and their volatility in the market, I think that the price of STEEM by the end of the year will be 15 - 20 dollars. The reason is simple, now the price of the STEEM and almost for all crypto currency, will depend on the direct from the price of Bitcoin and how it behaves, and the common market will be formed. Of course Bitcoin's technology is not promising for a little, but until Bitcoin in the trend and much will depend on it. Thank you @cryptographic
Great post @cryptographic ! I got your point in that Steem at $2,000 proportionally if it had the marketcap of Bitcoin correct? Per your analysis a few months ago.
The market is in bull signal I believe, so its great to hear this messages from different known people and groups of companies.
I am also very optimistic and believe steem and bts will start rising more and more in the next couple of months, and will grow more than BTC in ratio.

Nice way to put it. If STEEM had the market cap of BTC, at today's prices, with BTC at $8,800.00, STEEM would be worth around $682.00.

Bitcoin price may reach 20k or 200k but the question for me is, will it be able to maintain it? how can we justify the price of bitcoin when there are other crypto currencies out there that are more efficient at transfering and storing wealth?
For example, Steem? No transaction fees, 3 second transfer times and depending on how SMTs perform, we may even see Steem break 60% of all crypto currency transactions.
Sounds like we have a lot of HODLin' to do! We're still in the 1st inning!

Steem is my current favorite, and also the reason why I started looking into cryptocurrencies.
The great thing about Steem is that anyone can earn Steem, as you don’t have to mine it using super GPUs or CPUs, that may cost thousands of dollars. I hope the crypto currency world never stop and the value of steem get over $200.00, that would be awesome. People will become more aware about crypto and all the currencies will flourish. Optimism is our best friend.
Yeah, it's really a novel idea to mine by "posting", and if you invest the equivalent that mining hardware would cost in STEEM and power up, it's even better. Thanks for pointing that out. There are some things that can never be said enough!
Mining any cryptocurrency requires some time before you can be profitable and it is the same for Steem.
The difference is that you do not have to invest in expensive equipment like you would need for Bitcoin or Ethereum, or rent hash power where it is even more difficult to be profitable. People renting hash power are usually profitable when they refer other people to the company and get a commission, and when the coins they mined have increased in price.
In the contrary, what you need to become a witness and mine Steem is to rent a server and set it up. The cost for a server can be from $40 to $120 a month and you can of course get started at the minimum, and then upgrade your server as you go.
The difficulty with mining Steem is that you have to get votes from the community in order to advance and be at the top with the highest payouts.
Blockchain is a really revolutionary technology, I believe this also. Steem as well as other crypto has a very promising future, but there is only one chance that the market will increase so much will be to drop the value of US dollar in order to be sustained by the actual global economy. At least so I think :D
But even in this case, I would be happy to see the market so high in this life, not to mention until 2022!

Wow! Have you seen how STEEM has lead the way on this upturn, and how it's bounced back into positive on today's correction? I see major strength in STEEM, and, to a lesser extent, SBD. EOS too, but I don't think it has the same long term appreciation potential as STEEM and SBD (but it's still good though).
hahahhaha! Yes! STEEM is great...but, to tell you the truth, now is time to invest on EOS, at least till the end of May. I'm just collecting some FIAT to buy some more.

Investment tycoon Tim Draper said earlier this week that he now sees Bitcoin as reaching $250,000 by 2022 & CNBC’s Brian Kelly also supports Tim Draper’s BTC Prediction, is it real or what !!? And Steem would be $20,000 by 2022. If this happens by any chance that would be my happiest moment ever.
It is possible that BTC will break $20,000 mark this year & Steem will definitely break its previous highest mark. But i would like to see, Steem passes the $100 mark by the end of this year. Then i can go out for a world Tour & see the world, meeting new people, eating different kinds of food & learning new culture.

Cryptocurrency is a new revolutionary type of currency. Like any other currency or unit of account, they only have value because people think it has value. Some currencies are backed by gold or other precious metals
The following features are the main driver of cryptocurrency price, but not limited to these.
*Limited Supply and supply/demand.
*Energy put in in the form of electricity to secure the blockchain.
*The utility of the currency, and how easy it is to use and store.
*Perceptions on its value by the public.
*Price of Bitcoin.
*Media.
*Investors.
*Market dilution.
*Innovation.
*Confidence in traditional systems.
*Legal/Governmental issues.
Oh course I'm in love with the idea that it will get that high (as I'm sure anybody using Steemit would,) but those seem way higher than I would have expected to ever see.... Not that I wouldn't gladly open my arms for that lol

In my 2 cent opinion the prediction is far from reality. I am happy if steem value reach at 200 $ at the end of year. Impossible is nothing so let's hope for the best. If the values of steem goes to 20,000 in my honest opinion it is enough for me to quit my job. All the best. @cryptographic
STEEM has a huge potentiel and a great use case , i imagine when steemit will be the first social media steem price will be in the moon!
