Books that changed my life // Libros que han cambiado mi vida 📚

One of my greatest passions has always been reading, in fact, the kind of gift I like to receive most is a book; since I was very young I have been in the habit of reading, you could even say I was born with a book under my arm. Throughout the years I have enjoyed books that have marked my life and have influenced me in wonderful ways, many of them have helped me form the person I am today, so today I bring you 4 books that have changed my life so far.

I read this book when I was 13 and it was responsible for me ending up with ''We're Infinite'' tattooed on my wrist. We see ourselves in Charlie's eyes through the letters he writes, we are with him in his process and evolution as a teenager, dealing with depression, childhood trauma, infatuation and maturity. Charlie is our main character, but throughout the story we see several characters come into play which play an important role in our protagonist's life, both to help him grow up and to see him fail.

This book changed my life because at the time I was able to identify completely with the main character, there were many similarities between my story and his at that time and I could feel what he felt in those writings. Besides the fact that being a reading it provides you with a wonderful playlist, several of its chapters or letters undoubtedly leave you reflecting on what direction your life is heading when you are just starting your adolescence, the problems you have to face and the different lives you will be able to share with and, most importantly, it teaches you how to develop empathy. Without a doubt, wonderful. ♥

The emotional dependence on a couple has been a job that has certainly cost me a lot, it is not at all pleasant to feel that when that person leaves your life the world will slip away with him. This book undoubtedly helps you to reflect on the toxic patterns that relationships tend to maintain (which is something quite common in reality) and also, that they can be behaviors reinforced by relationships that occurred in our childhood, such as our parents' relationship.

When we are children we are sponges, all the information we receive will be fundamental to develop our personality once we are adults, that is why it is very important to take care of that aspect of childhood. Women who love too much is a book that carries stories that although they are not the same as ours, they all have something to contribute to learn, digest and accept. This book taught me that many times we know that we are dependent on a partner and yet we refuse to leave them, for fear of what? Many things, loneliness, abandonment, lack of self-esteem, many times we feel comfortable maintaining abusive and toxic relationships, which we avoid getting out of them. Without a doubt, this is an extremely important book in my life that taught me to value myself.

Ah, Red Moon was the ticket to return to myself, learn more about us, reconcile with my body and love me. I feel a deep admiration for all the women who write for and about us, before reading this book I swear I knew nothing about my cycle, I also didn't reconcile the connection we had with the moon, our ancestors, nature and our body, let's say that menstruation was something I took for granted, I maintained that macho belief that ''it was a punishment for being a woman, impure''.

Thanks to Red Moon I took the personal initiative to continue researching about women and their menstrual cycle, that's why I got a variety of books that continued to talk about women that left me amazed. Today, this book represents the opening to the wonderful world of our sexuality, our cycle, our nature and freedom. ♥

And finally, my favorite book, the book I love and have loved the most since I first read it, my initiation into the world of the classics: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Do you know what it is like to love every page of this wonderful work? My recurring readings are not usually related to the romantic genre. In fact, my favorite author is Stephen King, but with this book I had to make an exception.

Reading the evolution of the relationships presented in this book is a marvel, you manage to connect with all the emotions that are presented here, you go from loving characters directly to detesting them and vice versa. The development of the main characters is something tangible, although unfortunately many of the secondary characters do not usually evolve and only provide specific spaces in the reading, as is the case of Lydia, Kitty and Mary. Even with all this, the weight of the romantic story between Elizabeth and Darcy, Jane and Charles is what keeps you connected to the plot, making you dream, land, cry and continue. It's not the best romance book ever, but to me it means so much that I include it here, whenever I'm going through a rough patch, little depressive episodes, this book always manages to bring me back to the present, to breathe and keep going. ♥ ♥

Una de mis mayores pasiones siempre ha sido la lectura, de hecho, el tipo de regalo que más me gusta recibir es un libro; desde muy pequeña he tenido como hábito la lectura, hasta podría decirse que nací con un libro debajo del brazo. A lo largo de los años he disfrutado de libros que han marcado mi vida y han logrado influenciar en mí de formas maravillosas, muchos de ellos me han ayudado a formar la persona que soy hoy, así que hoy les traigo 4 libros que han cambiado mi vida hasta los momentos.

Éste libro lo leí a los 13 años y fue el responsable de que me terminase tatuando ''We're Infinite'' en la muñeca. Nos vemos en los ojos de Charlie a través de las cartas que escribe, estamos con él en su proceso y evolución como adolescente, lidiando con depresión, traumas de infancia, enamoramientos y madurez. Charlie es nuestro personaje principal, pero a lo largo de la historia vemos a varios personajes incorporarse los cuáles juegan un papel importante en la vida de nuestro protagonista, tanto como para ayudarlo a crecer, como para verlo fallar.

Éste libro me cambió la vida porque en su momento logré identificarme de plano con el personaje principal, habían muchas similitudes entre mi historia y la de él para ese entonces y podía sentir lo que él sentía en esos escritos. Además de que siendo lectura te facilita una lista de reproducción maravillosa, varios de sus capítulos o cartas sin duda alguna te dejan reflexionando sobre hacía que rumbo se dirige tu vida cuando recién comienzas tu adolescencia, los problemas que debes afrontar y las distintas vidas con las que podrás compartir y, lo más importante, enseña a desarrollar la empatía. Sin dudas, maravilloso. ♥

La dependencia emocional hacía una pareja ha sido un trabajo que sin duda me ha costado mucho, no es para nada agradable sentir que cuando esa persona se vaya de tu vida el mundo se te va a escapar junto con él. Éste libro sin duda alguna te ayuda a reflexionar en sí sobre los patrones tóxicos que suelen mantener las relaciones (que es algo bastante común en realidad) y también, que pueden ser conductas reforzadas por relaciones que se presentaron en nuestra niñez, como lo es la relación de nuestros padres.

Cuando somos niños somos esponjas, toda información que recibamos será fundamental para desarrollar nuestra personalidad una vez siendo adultos, es por ello que es muy importante cuidar ese aspecto de la niñez. Las mujeres que aman demasiado es un libro que carga historias que aunque no son iguales a la nuestra, todas tienen algo que aportarte para aprender, digerir y aceptar. Éste libro me enseñó a que muchas veces sabemos que mantenemos una dependencia hacía una pareja y sin embargo nos rehusamos a dejarla, ¿por miedo a qué? a muchísimas cosas, soledad, abandono, falta de amor propio, muchas veces nos sentimos conformes manteniendo relaciones abusivas y tóxicas, con lo cuál evitamos salir de ellas. Sin duda alguna, éste es un libro sumamente importante en mi vida que me enseñó a valorarme a mí misma.

Ah, Luna Roja fue el boleto de entrada para retornar conmigo misma, aprender más sobre nosotras, reconciliar con mi cuerpo y amarme. Siento una profunda admiración por todas las mujeres que escriben por y para nosotras, antes de leer éste libro les juro que yo no sabía nada de mi ciclo, tampoco conciliaba la conexión que teníamos con la luna, nuestros ancestros, la naturaleza y nuestro cuerpo, digamos que la menstruación era algo que daba por hecho, mantenía ese creencia machista de que ''era un castigo por ser mujer, impura''.

Gracias a Luna Roja tomé la iniciativa personal de continuar investigando sobre las mujeres y su ciclo menstrual, es por ello que conseguí una variedad de libros que continuaban hablando sobre la mujer que me dejaban maravillada. Hoy, éste libro representa el abrebocas al mundo maravilloso de nuestra sexualidad, nuestro ciclo, nuestra naturaleza y libertad. ♥

Y por último, mi libro favorito, el libro que más amo y he amado desde que lo leí la primera vez, mi iniciación en el mundo de los clásicos: Orgullo y Prejuicio de Jane Austen. ¿Saben lo que es amar cada página de ésta maravillosa obra? Mis lecturas recurrentes no suelen relacionarse con el género romántico, de hecho, mi autor favorito es Stephen King, pero con éste libro tuve que hacer la excepción.

Leer la evolución de las relaciones presentadas en éste libro es una maravilla, logras conectar con todas las emociones que se presentan aquí, pasas de amar a personajes directamente a detestarlos y viceversa. El desarrollo de sus personajes principales es algo tangible, aunque lamentablemente muchos de los secundarios no suelen evolucionar y sólo aporten espacios específicos en la lectura, como lo son el caso de Lydia, Kitty y Mary. Aun con todo y esto, el peso de la historia romántica entre Elizabeth y Darcy, Jane y Charles es lo que te mantiene conectada a la trama, haciéndote soñar, aterrizar, llorar y continuar. No es el mejor libro de romance de la historia, pero para mí significa tanto que por ello lo incluyo aquí, siempre que estoy pasando por una mala racha, por pequeños episodios depresivos, éste libro siempre lograr traerme nuevamente al presente, respirar y continuar. ♥
