Los idiomas sin lugar a duda son fascinantes, además de que nos facilitan todos los caminos que encontremos a lo largo de nuestra vida, como lo es formar relaciones interpersonales, ampliar nuestro mundo laboral, cultivar conocimiento y expandirnos en otros horizontes.
Desde que era muy pequeña siempre sentí una admiración muy grande por las personas que hablaban más de un idioma y, debido a mi gran amor por las bandas en inglés me propuse aprender por mi cuenta dicho idioma para lograr entender sus entrevistas, canciones y demás. Inclusive llegué a inscribirme en el Consulado Británico en Caracas para simplemente adquirir el acento.

Since I was very little I always felt a great admiration for people who spoke more than one language and, due to my great love for English bands, I decided to learn English on my own to understand their interviews, songs and others. I even enrolled in the British Council in Caracas to simply acquire the accent.

Me encantaría decir que he llegado al nivel de todas las personas políglotas a las cuáles admiro y saber tantos idiomas como pudiese, pero lo cierto es que he abandonado un poco esa pasión que le tenía a los idiomas, o por lo menos no he tenido la oportunidad de afianzarme a ellos.
Aparte de mi idioma materno, puedo afirmar que entiendo el inglés, puede leerlo, puedo disfrutar películas, series y podcasts en éste idioma, así como también puedo hablarlo, mi mayor dificultad realmente es al momento de escribirlo, o por lo menos de querer narrar algo en dicho idioma. Es como si mi cerebro se quedara en pausa por unos instantes.

II would love to say that I have reached the level of all the polyglot people I admire and know as many languages as I could, but the truth is that I have abandoned a little of that passion I had for languages, or at least I haven't had the opportunity to get a good grasp of them.
Apart from my mother tongue, I can affirm that I understand English, I can read it, I can enjoy movies, series and podcasts in this language, as well as I can speak it, my biggest difficulty really is when writing it, or at least wanting to narrate something in this language. It's as if my brain is paused for a few moments.
Por lo tanto una de mis mayores metas en éste momento es perfeccionar el idioma, pulirlo y continuar nutriéndome de él, pero no es el único que se encuentra en mi lista.
Cuando tenía 13 años quería estudiar Idiomas Modernos en la universidad, evidentemente ese sueño ha ido cambiando conforme he ido creciendo, pero la curiosidad siempre estuvo. Conocer nuevas culturas y a su vez, nuevas personas es algo que siempre llevo marcado en mi nombre, por lo tanto los idiomas forman parte de esa iniciativa.
Así que dentro de mi lista de idiomas por aprender están el alemán, francés, italiano, japonés, coreano y ruso. Esos son los que tengo pensado por ahora, con la esperanza de seguir sumando más a la lista.
Pero no sólo me quedo en los idiomas, también siento gran admiración por el lenguaje y, uno de los que particularmente quisiera aprender es el lenguaje de señas. Darle la posibilidad a aquellas personas que lamentablemente no poseen el sentido auditivo o de voz de ser incluidas en una sociedad de personas oyentes sin ningún conflicto.
Sueño con el día en que se le enseñe a nuestros niños a incluir a estas personas en una vida social cotidiana, donde todos podamos comunicarnos sin tener barreras.
So one of my biggest goals at the moment is to perfect the language, polish it and continue to nurture it, but it's not the only one on my list.
When I was 13 years old I wanted to study Modern Languages in college, obviously that dream has been changing as I have been growing up, but the curiosity was always there. Getting to know new cultures and in turn, new people is something I have always had in my name, so languages are part of that initiative.
So on my list of languages to learn are German, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Russian. Those are the ones I have in mind for now, with the hope of adding more to the list.
But I'm not only interested in languages, I also feel great admiration for language, and one of the languages I would particularly like to learn is sign language. To give the possibility to those people who unfortunately do not have the sense of hearing or voice to be included in a society of hearing people without any conflict.
I dream of the day when our children are taught to include these people in an everyday social life, where we can all communicate without barriers.
