A couple of images from a photo shoot from a friends studio (@brianbrogan1960). It was a group shoot, which means that a lot of photographers take part to shoot a model. Im not really a fan of group shoots because often you can spend ages queuing to get a chance to take pictures, and also you can end up with a lot of similar images. The outfit was created by the make-up artist and the costume designer, in this case, a guy who specialises in making accurate traditional clothing and weapons.
Although there might seem a lot of negatives, the biggest positive of all this is that there is a lot of skill and talent involved in setting this up. The make-up artist did amazing work, the costume was outstanding and the model was well experienced, not forgetting the costs of running a photo studio itself. And all this costs a lot of money, so the group shoot is a way of sharing the costs between us. We have access to an expensive set-up, for relatively little outlay, and as long as we all get some shots we are happy with, then that's all that matters.
