So as I mentioned in the previous post, I did manage to “summit” the Rae glacier hiking trail, have a quick snack, soak in the views, have a brief friendly conversation with some other “older” hikers, and after all that it was time to return. As it was a scramble scenario on the way up, I did not return using the same path. Descending is usually a wee bit easier than ascending, but not always. In this case, it was somewhat easier. One of the coolest things on this particular hike was this massive rock wall, and the melting glacier ice dripping down the front. It really was awesome to see, and it did in fact look like the rock wall was “weeping”. A very unique find for the hike, I don’t ever recall seeing anything quite like it before actually! Photos taken inside Kananaskis country, Alberta. By the way, did you get in any good hikes or nature walks recently?

Epic shots and this place is just plan amazing. Looks like the rock is bleeding, crazy cool looking. I've gotten a few hikes in with my nephew that was in town. Nothing as amazing as this place but still pretty cool locations. We did the famous Potato chip rock hike. For me going up is a piece of cake but going down is where I always have my problems, bad knee from sports, blown ACL and Meniscus and its never been the same, so going down hills I really got to take it slow.
Understandable. Trekking poles are a definite must. Makes the descension a whole lot easier. Save the knees!

Not even sure about that. It was quite spectacular, the scrambling part however, not my favourite.
Beautiful photos. I have heard of the bleeding tree in fairy tales but I haven't heard of the bleeding wall, I am just seeing one. So curious to know what it is exactly

At first I thought it was some kind of layered rock.. but now that I know it was glacial water, it seems even cooler! That stream looked incredible. Did you try drinking any? Is it safe? If I were to guess, I would suspect it to be the freshest and purest water out there.. but I'm obviously not an expert lol.
No I didn’t try drinking any. Probably would have been safe to drink though. The effect of water seeping over the edge was pretty cool to see @ma3str0.

I wonder, what does that weeping wall look like in winter? You know freezing temps, and the weeping is actually a series of frozen waterfalls across the rock wall.
I bet it is spectacular. NOT planning a mid winter hike, tho... not for me!

Beautiful shots, never heard or seen of the weeping wall before but I can clearly see why it's called that. Looks like some difficult tracking in that area with all the rock base.
I just assigned that name to it! There is another place in the Canadian Rockies that goes by that title though.
