WoW!! That was an amazing experience. I got a chance to attend EMBO-workshop in 2017 at Bangalore. One of the experiments we did was pulling the chick embryo neuron membrane and measuring the force. See the video here. It uses an experimental setup called Optical Trap which can be used to guide a micro-bead and to pull the neuronal axon! The moving things inside the axon are cargo proteins. The scale is of the order of microns.
