Double Trouble

in #blog8 years ago

Writing quality blogs involves a lot of creative work which sometimes causes mental drain and it is quite hard even for English speaking people. If you came from non English speaking environment it makes it even harder.

Steemit is international platform, which means that large number steemians need to put double effort in order to get “quality”.

Often, here on steemit I read about grammar, spelling mistakes, weird sentences...so what?! ...If you take into consideration that those people have to write text and translate it, find illustrations and pack everything up to be readable and interesting I can only say Bravo! I don’t have long texts in my posts. Why? Because English is my second language and just like many other people around here sometimes struggle to present my ideas. If I was writing in my native language than it would be totally different story.
Steemit is great platform! You can find great content, interact with interesting and good people, plus there is a benefit of earning real money.

So, what is the point of this post?
I wanted to draw your attention to people who maybe have something to say but don’t know how.
How do I surpass my creative/language block? I post photos and then try to work my way around them.

Conclusion: Next time you start your critique about someones punctuation or grammar, try to put yourself into their shoes, try to write your blog using foreign language...

You know, Di, Grammarly.com became my best friend since I started blogging on Steemit, lol :D

Judging by your posts I don’t think you need it dear!

Haha, I always strive for perfection, so I normally double-and triple-check my writing :)

I use Grammarly (free) plugin for my web browser at work and at home, too. It catches everything and teaches me as I write. Even though I'm a native English speaker I'm a poor speller. I have definitely improved. I should try to write a post in Spanish. I'm sure it would be" muy mal". I appreciate the effort non-English speakers make when writing. Bravo!

I just noticed that the free Grammarly tool is available on Steemit, too! Until now, I have always kept grammarly.com open in a separate tab :) Thank you, @trulafountaine!
