The spring around us is rampant in green colors and is heating the soil with might and main, luring out for walks in nature.
During the last walk we met this insect.
His name is #Lethrus lat.
The body of this beetle looks convex. The color may be dull black or black with a blue glow in the sun. There are three pairs of tenacious and strong limbs that are covered with hard hairs, and claws are present at the ends of the paws. The wings are not developed, this species does not fly, it has hard and short, accrete elytra.
In order to provide their offspring with food, beetles cut literally all the greens in their path: stalks, foliage, buds with inflorescences, even green non-woody grapes with powerful jaws
In one day, this pest can destroy up to a dozen green vines of grapes, cut at the root of several bushes of garden strawberries and other crops. Do not disdain, and young ornamental shrubs and dwarf shrubs ...
Therefore, the Lethrus is more than dangerous for cultural plantings, as it multiplies quickly. One female lays eight to ten eggs in a clutch, but this is only one mink.
A few of these minks per ㎡ carry a real threat of vegetation covering ten times more territory...
You can learn about the presence of #Kravchik Beetle ( #Apterus #Laxmann) from minks and stalks of stalks around them. The holes of minks are rather wide and visible to the eye, but their depth and branching represent a certain difficulty in the destruction of the pest
