You, me, and a sprinkling of friends. Just the way life should be. Heads close, the true meaning of the words lost in the moment. Files way back in my memory bank, to be taken out later and looked at, digest, go over, again, and again.
I love these girls, all three of them. Through good times and sometimes less good, they have stood, with me and without. A few weeks back, they showed up on my doorstep, quite unannounced, for coffee. The coffee that has become ritual. But, not like your neighbor. Two of them crossed more then a couple State lones to be here, to infuse a little intrique of showing up out of the blue.I love them for it. For caring enough, the same as I care about them.
The ritual of drinking coffee is such a therapeutic exercise in “being there" Does anything else really matter for that moment or three - or can I allow myself to simply enjoy the beverage, the conversation, your company, and perhaps, a little bit of laughter? I raise my cup to the laughter.
Truth! Something as simple and positive as a visit with friends to drink coffee and talk about what is on your mind that day, can be one of the best exercises for the mind and heart that you can practice. Practice makes perfect. Bring on that @c0ff33a and sooner is better.
Half my life ago, I imagined a very different adult aitting here, having coffee, the same way as I always have had it. I had no idea what life was about and I believed in happy endings with everything tied up in a neat little package called life. I look at the faces of these friends, knowing that together and seperately, we have lived abundantly,weathered our fair share of storms and we are still here. It has taken me a while,but, I now know that endings aren't the happy part of life - well, not necessarily. If you asked me today, I would have to say that life itself is my happy… my life - and every day that I am given, well, that is the gift.
They want to be picked. They yearn to be loved. Shouldn't we all want to be? There must be a flower. #alwaysaflower

The funny thing is, no matter how much coffee I have it’s never enough….I’m actually holding well over three tonnes of green coffee ready to roast and have another tonne paid for waiting to ship from plantations in Ethiopia, Honduras, Guatemala and Brazil.
Oh!! You are really branching out, aren't you? I remember when you got it from Ethiopia, I thought it was different, not so much that, but, I had never heard of them as a coffee-growing country. How do you like it compared to the central/south American coffee beans? Do you mix it or keep it straight?
I am sure it is pretty exciting to mix up different beans, much like a cocktail. :)

Seriously though, that shared moment with a person, or people, over a coffee or tea is a pretty legit thing. You know, I hold to the belief that good company makes average food or coffee great, the company of that special person/people...You know?
Having said that, great company and coffee works too.
Hear! Hear! I have to agree with those statements. As with almost anything in life, the best moments are usually enhanced with the company of one that is near and dear to my heart.
Sometimes, you may not even know how special it is, until the day is done and you are reliving those moments. It feels so good and then, you realize just how good it was.
Oh, yes! Today, it is coffee and me, but, I am bringing my memories with me. I think I'll send a group text while I drink it. :))

I agree with that comment, may not know how special it is, sometimes life-moments are like that, but then that's why we have the power to access our memory. Thank god for that too! (Although, sometimes memories can be bad things.)
Your friends, and anyone you value, are just a memory away and so you can take them everywhere.
That is so true and I do because they don't live close, but, I think of them often. Who wouldn't with people who show up on your doorstep, just to have coffee with you?

They are not better than a truly loving family. I lost my mother and my father. My mother did everything for us (for me and for my brother). She loved us more than anything. I wish that I would have behaved better towards her. She deserved much better. Both from me and from life itself.

You are very fortunate. Some people find that very good, close friends CAN be better than some family as they go through life. Not always, but, it happens. I am sorry about losing your mother and father. It is a profound day in life to find yourself without them.
I find that regrets are wasted and the next best thing is to be an exceptional human being to those around me.
This is awesome. Huge respect to your girls' coffee ritual. It looks wonderful. The most coffee-esque ritual I've done lately was go out for Starbucks or Tim Horton's, lol. 🙏
On a related note: are you familiar with the 'Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony'? They have special tools and it takes hours and is a pretty important ritual in their culture.
No! I just sent a message to the coffee roaster in England about Ethiopian coffee as he has beans from there. He visits the plantations and I actually never knew it was a crop there... I would love to hear about it.

Truth. I think when you have people that run through your life and their friendship crosses your path in ways that I would never have dreamed of, you never think of how far, how long or can I do it? You just do it.
I have gone distances for one day of being in the company of these friends. I no longer find it weird or unusual. These are my friends. :))

The socialization over a simple cup of coffee is what I miss. Thankfully things are slowly getting back to normal and we'll all be able to experience these acts without thinking twice again. I hope you had a nice cuppa, I have a strong feeling you did :)
