I was Invited to speak in one of the students platform, for some reasons unknown to me, I decided to speak from psalm 91. The message came in a different dimension and I trust it was a blessing to many. I shall be sharing same message on the platform, hoping someone somewhere will get bless from it as well.
Psalms 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I would like us to observe the conditional statement "He that" and "place of the most high" This helps us draw the fact that, what ever blessings and God protection listed on the later verse are for those who fulfil these conditions. It wasn't for everyone, or every born again believer. "dwell in the place of the most high" , also help us realise, there could be other places we could dwell outside the secret place of the most high.
Some of those places could be:
- Self place (the flesh)
- Societal place(the world)
Where we choose to dwell matters a lot in our pilgrim journey and our existence here on Earth as well as our ability to command satisfaction and success. Let me explain those two other places briefly.

Self place- here is where we esteem the desire of the flesh above God's word. We want to do or fulfil those desire that our flesh lust after. We feel , to be comfortable, we need give our flesh all that it want.
Societal place- In this place, we are govern by the ideologies of this world, we quote scientific and philosophical benefits to some things that the Bible is against. You hear an individual saying, some wisdom of this world. Like "you need to lie atimes, it's not anything bad, divorce is ok as long as you don't like your wife, it's improper to have just a single girl , what if she breaks your heart, even pastors commit fornication, so what's the big deal about it etc.
Unfortunately, those two places never gives you satisfaction. It's a place that you can never feel at home and records or penalize your wrong,They are places where you drink but never get satisfied, you eat but never get filled. You keep chasing, blinded about the doom that awaits you just beside the threshold.When Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman, he said your ancestor Jacob dug a well , you drink but again taste... That's because things of this word lack satisfaction, you only keep chasing them till ones destruction
But there's a place called "The secret place of the Most high" where safety and peace is guarantee, It's a place where you come naked as you are and you would feel no ashamed. It's a place where you can be free to be yourself. It's a place where you can pour your heart and be open and feel no fear
See, boss fire you for one error,Women get divorce letter for a single mistake, or The world hate you for failing even once But this place is where you fail over and over again and you're not judged. Only in that place are you made who you were created to be.
The self place and the societal place truly holds a comfort. But one thing it never tells you it's that those comfort are for a while. . After it lies disaster and regret.There are people who have trend that path but never returned, some returned but lived a life afterwards of regret. We are Youth, I understand. And the Bible celebrate youth because they have overcome the world. Our creator knows it difficult to choice that path that leads to the secret place of the most high, but also, we hold grace sufficient to help us overcome the striving of the flesh and our inner man
Psalm 91. Is a blessing and protection for those who dwell and truth in God's word, Not men ideologies. Finally,It's a choice, to whatever the word of God is against. It's out of love that we might not perish not because He hates us or our comfort.Choice God's way , that secret place where true wisdom lies,Only until then shall we live our full potential.
I haven't been to church all year or even read the bible in a long time, but whenever I do, I like to read the Psalms and Proverbs because they seem more relatable.
